The Occupy movement has been sensational in garnering international attention, but it has been downplayed and marginalized by mainstream media who choose to paint it as the assembly of a radical and fringe minority. Many people who support the causes are unable or unwilling to actively participate in the occupations across the country. So, what I think the movement could really use is this:
One day for a nationwide (...worldwide?) demonstration. One day to bring out our true numbers and show everybody that these are not just the sentiments of drum-beating, jobless youth - as much of the media portrays it - but a feeling shared by millions of citizens across the whole spectrum of the 99% that there is something fundamentally wrong with the current financial and political system!
Someone in a position to organize, pick a date. I, and most of my friends and family, are free Saturdays.
