Huh? This is backwards. We need to remove the financiers influence (dominance) from politics.

I think you mean Wall Street occupies Congress. I think that is more accurate of a description of how things are screwed up. I agree with term limits AND the removal of corporate campaign funding. Require all public service campaigns to be funded only by a fixed amount of public money and make it illegal for private money to be used in campaigns for those running for office. That way, there's no payback for special favors. Also, remove the ruling by the Supreme Court that gives the same rights awarded to individuals to corporations. Individuals have souls, corporations do not!

I like your approach. So keep it simple. Vote Wall Street Out of Congress. Congressional Term Limits.

Add to the above: remove congressional perks. The only reason this country is not getting fixed is because congress does not "eat its own dogfood". Once those perks are stripped, I think you'll find it very interesting how QUICKLY things get fixed. Right now, they have no incentive to fix anything since they live "above us all". Add to the term limits a provision that allows their constituents to VOTE THEM OUT and REPLACE them if they're not doing the job to the will of their voting constituents. SIMPLE enough.
