The one and only problem that our current system faces (feel free to disagree) is that consumers in the political economy (i.e. voters) are not perfectly informed as we were taught in economics class. Advertising, mud slinging, and blind party allegiance have led to voters electing people of both parties who do not have the people interest at heart. If we can find a way to right this, whether with a public veto, congressional term limits, or campaign finance reform, along with web based democracy, all our other problems could be solved by we the people.

Because direct democracy is scary.
