Forum Post: Ok, I admit it I was wrong...we should engage the trolls with fact-based arguments but we shouldn't ignore them. They have the right to free speech also.

The racist comments are pissing me off. It's obvious that people are trying to identify OWS with racism, which is not true.
Give them the facts and they really get mad, curse you out and even wish your death.
I noticed that. So if they curse me out and wish my death I guess I going down the right path!
part of the problem with facts is that people are also poor at interpreting them.
True, I find myself repeating over and over in these forums that a 9.1% unemployment rate means that for everyone 100 people seeking work there are only 91 jobs available yet they still call the unemployed lazy. It's unbelievable.
I have had the same problem, someone was lying and I provided 3 sources proving them wrong, he then called me stupid and said I fabricated the evidence. There are some ridiculous people out there that don't care about the truth. There are a lot of lies on this forum!

They may not be the majority that are deceiving people but the ones that are sure are yelling louder than the ones that are not.
You have to feel sorry for them. It's got to be tough to have so much anger and be so sick.
I just write "troll" to warn others and then go about my way. Trolls are only trying to get a rise out of you. They want you to argue with them or get mad. Also people take free speech a bit to literally. This is an internet board. It is owned. Just like you have a right to control what is said in your house the people that own this board have a right to control what is said on this board.
Trolls do not add to a discussion and for people who are new and do not know anything about OWS or the movement. They can actually give the impression of the movement. This is why i type "Troll"
Trolls are moderated off all boards that are moderated. Sometimes rather heavily. It is and isnt censorship.If a board was not moderated for trolling it would be full of trolls and advertiser and you couldnt even find legitimate arguments.
I'm new to online fourm, so trolls were foreign to me. Now I see what their game is.

Unfortunately that does not apply to websites and any other private institution. Understand that the freedom of speech only protects one from reprisals from the government.
Ignoring them is not infringing on their right, nor is censoring them on this site.
Good point. Sometimes I forget the 1st amendment protects individuals from the government but does not apply between private individuals.
There's good and bad that comes from trolls.
If you are true, you may not realize it, but they help you train yourself to think, to listen, to analyze, to recognize technique and strategy, and to use facts and figures. Use critical thought.
The bad is that your job becomes answering trolls when there are other important matters that need attention. That is one part of their strategy: to divert you from your path. All people deserve freedom. Love is always better than hate. Claim your own rights and the rights of ALL of your brothers and sisters too.
Thank you for the encouragement! Good will prevail in the end...hate and anger will not advance our goals anyway.

In the end, evil always defeats itself. But that doesn't mean we should be complacent.
This unfair system can only stand for so long, no matter how many people try to undermine you on the internet. What really matters is that people are standing up for their rights in every major city, not that some troll makes a comment that can't be substantiated.
There are three kinds of interference with free speech here.-----
1) Agents of the nwo. Not very creative, stick together, don't care about reason, evidence, law, nothing. They just stick together with the routine.---
2) MKultra victims conditioned to follow temporary doctrines provided by nwo media leadership.---
3) Deeply deceived or deluded Americans that have watched WAY too much TV, and believe it because their social circles advocate such.----
The way to deal with all of them is facts, reason and law. If there is no recognition of any, then you have one of the above.
Reasonably answer their criticism while proving, linking, reasoning that LAWS have been violated meaning IF they are Americans THEN they must stand with the facts and the law. They won't if they are any of the above three.
The law of the land brings us, Article V. We need a convention to amend the constitution.
Congress is very afraid of it.

Most of the trolls interjecting with obvious BS are in fact astroturfers paid to do so. There's no reason to engage them other than to waste your time & effort. They have freedom of speech and others are free to ignore them as well..
