Oil and Gasoline pricing "It" is a scam with no real controls and no reality in cause for increase. It is a monopoly run in collusion, a racket a criminal syndicate.

We experience a reduction in cost per barrel of crude and at the same time experience an increase in cost. Why? They say due to the cost of processing.

We experience a rise in the cost of crude but this has not yet reached the market but we experience an increase in cost. Why? This is the market adjusting to the increase in preparation of the surge we are told.

Bullshit

Bullshit

Bullshit

It is a commodity without controls and regulations. It is an industry that is given a blind eye in it's operation. It is a monopoly in its supportive counterparts. It is an illegal racket condoned by government.

PERIOD!!!

Billions in profits per quarter and subsidized to boot.

Largest illegal fleecing of America and the World and all possible through the support of government.

PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is also why there has been no real drive or push to convert to clean energy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TEA Party has been pushing "Drill here, drill now" for years. Get on board!

[-] 1 points by louisrocc (74) 12 years ago

Why is this allowed to continue if it is now and has been so damaging to our nation for so long? It is because we do not have representation of the people at large in Congress. We have representation of special interests with the deepest pockets. This is what the founders of this nation fought. This is why our Constitution forbids the giving of titles. This is due to a campaign finance system where representation is based on wealth. www.campaignfinanceamendment.org

So, why are there not more electric vehicles in auto dealer showrooms?

Yes! Inexpensive energy is the single biggest factor contributing to economic stagnation!

[+] -4 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

And right now and going back years in time there is no valid explanation for the rise in prices other than greed and manipulation.

[-] -2 points by craigdangit (326) 12 years ago

Here's the thing, though: As long as it is economical to you, it really doesn't matter to you how much the person providing the good is making. That's the thing with capitalism, every single trade is a "take it or leave it" situation. Either trade me what you have for what I'm selling, or buy from someone else. Even if I am unfairly colluding with the government, (Which is wrong and needs to be stopped of course), I do not have a 100% lock on the energy market. You can use solar energy. You can use wood or biomass. Oil is still by far the most economical choice for energy production.

[-] -2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

This is not about what we have for a fuel base this is about criminal price fixing and driving the economy to a fragile position and driving small business out of business.

[-] 0 points by craigdangit (326) 12 years ago

LOL!

[-] -2 points by Kirby (104) 12 years ago

Why isn't the media talking about this? They want four more years of Barack Obama.

[-] 3 points by JesseHeffran (3903) 12 years ago

Actually, the number one news program, The Young Turks, just talked about this last week. Maybe you need to get a better news channel. They tell it like it is, and hold Obama accountable, but also realize that the Democrats are the lessor of two evils. You need to recognize the Progressives are about to have this nation on lock down. We 'coming for your crooks and liars, and we don't hold no punches.

Maybe now you will want to start drilling. or perhaps you are still praying for the windmills to save us lol! Keystone Pipeline - You people are against that too. So stop complaining

[-] 1 points by hamalmang (722) from Lebanon, PA 12 years ago

Oil drilled in the US and off the coasts and the oil that would be transported in the proposed Keystone pipeline is not for US markets. The US doesn't own the oil. The oil companies do and they go for the higher profit ratio. Even Bill Oreilly is talking about this. Pay attention.

[-] 1 points by mako (42) 12 years ago

ok - have it your way

[-] -3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Oil companies are price fixing with the governments approval.

Pay Attention!

[-] 2 points by hamalmang (722) from Lebanon, PA 12 years ago

It's the speculators. They have been doing it for years.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

Yeppers, and WallStreet is loving it...........topped 13,000 today.

[-] -2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

No Shit. An unregulated commodities trading. Complained about off and on for years. Oil and Gasoline and gas prices were at one time regulated. There was a price cap. The government removed the caps but never removed subsidies given to oil processors. Now without the oil ever moving an inch it can travel around the world in speculation and gain all kinds of cost to the consumer.

Everyone else follows suit in price matching because they can, and there you go charge what the market can bear. Regardless of the price per barrel of crude coming out of the ground. Regardless of real value or processing costs.

[-] -1 points by Farleymowat1 (19) 12 years ago

Don't you hate oil and advocate everything but oil? You should be glad the gasoline prices are going higher to force people to use less and research more alternatives. The US built a complete industry in nuclear when forced into it to make a bomb. They solved very complex problems, and invented the early computers. Higher oil could force the world into a situation where we all say fuck it, and go for broke. It sure would be great to lay the Arabs on their backs and see them drink their fossil slime.

[+] -4 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Go fuck yourself SFB. This has nothing to do with current supply.

[-] 0 points by ZenWhoreDog (5) 12 years ago

Have you installed a thermal hvac system in your house? You shell out for a hybrid car? Got a windmill in your front yard or solar panels on your roof? Gonna guess not and the reason is COST. The only way we can "push" clean energy is to raise prices on existing energy sources so green can compete. Kinda hard to do with this economy, isn't it?

The cost of gas and oil which is artificially high ( driven by greed & control & not by need ) drives up the cost of anything you can name.

Why?

It is the blood we are forced to pump to create electricity, to ship goods and supplies, to heat and cool, it is the hearts need of every phase of the economy.

And you have SFB.

[-] 0 points by ZenWhoreDog (5) 12 years ago

You have sorta overlooked increased world demand as 3rd world countries wanna be like Mike. China has billions of citizens and a slight increase in their standard of living is a very significant number of new drivers. India is starting to consume more too. It's not all greed, there are more and more consumers as the world moves towrards equaling out prosperity. Well, it'll never be equal, but more 3rd and formerly 3rd world countries are developing a consumer class. Water will be the next crisis.

That has nothing to do with what we pay. Our supply "is" our supply. Hell we even export. So the rest of the world has nothing to do with what is happening here. If Oil company's were barely making ends meet you might have a point.

[-] -2 points by Kirby (104) 12 years ago

8% profit margin is excessive? Since when? If you have an Ira, 401k, 403b, etc, you own oil stock. Quit whining, and go down to the coon rapids damn and catch some carp.

[-] -3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Blow it out your ass. That is unless of coarse you prefer the taste from spewing.

[-] -1 points by Kirby (104) 12 years ago

That's what you do when you eat carp out of the Mississippi.

[+] -4 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

I guess you would know.

[-] -1 points by Mooks (1985) 12 years ago

Why don't you just buy some stock in oil companies? You won't mind high oil prices as much if you can make some coin off of it

[-] -3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Sure why didn't I think of that before? Why didn't anyone think of that before?

Hmmm . . .think there might be a problem trying to buy in when prices are High? Artificially or not?

[-] 0 points by Mooks (1985) 12 years ago

I don't know, I thought of it that before. Seeing how the oil company index doubled since 2009 a lot of others thought of it too.

They also pay nice dividends, even at their current levels (which are still ~20% off their highs in 2008, they definitely have room to run). There is going to be a strong demand for oil for the forseable future so they really do make great long term investments. And you said it yourself, they are cash cows. They rake it in. I can't think of better companies to invest in.

[-] -2 points by Kirby (104) 12 years ago

Its Obamas fault.

[-] -3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

wake-up.

[-] -1 points by Kirby (104) 12 years ago

I am. Watching nightline hate on apple, and Steve Jobs.

[-] -2 points by SteveKJR (-497) 12 years ago

Well since the United States became a "global economy" like everyone wanted that's the price we have to pay.

Not like it used to be is it? So you have two choices - make enough income to pay for increases or cut back and deal with it.

Everything you touch has some tie in to oil production. So unless you want to get rid of you plastic car, computers, I-Pods, appliances or anything else manufactured and delivered that you use, oil consumption will not go away anytime soon.

Your only alternative is buy land, build your house out of trees, mud and stone for the fireplace, farm the land, raise farm animals and forget about having someone provide you with electricity, water, gas and oh by the way get rid of your apple computer and I-pod. -it also contributes to "oil pollution" when it is manufacturered.

Get off your soapbox. Your song and dance got old along time ago. The Oil processors are not having any trouble with supply and the billions of dollars per quarter profits say that they are getting more than they need to operate.

Get some new talking points. Yours are stale moldy and rotting.

[-] 1 points by Mooks (1985) 12 years ago

Don't you think oil companies should make a lot of money though? They extract oil from the depths of the earth, ship it in a barge across the world, refine it into gasoline that you can use in your car, and then ship that gasoline to your neighborhood gas station. A company like XOM makes massive profits because it is a massive operation.

[-] -3 points by SteveKJR (-497) 12 years ago

Never did say the there was a problem with oil supply - what I did say is that it is being shipped out of this country.

And if the oil companies are making hugh profits who's fault is that - is it the consumers fault for having to buy the gasoline or the governments fault for giving them a handout.

You decide and answer accordingly - don't give me the crap about a "song and dance" because the "Fat Lady" has sung her last tune.

[-] -3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Well got swift troll reaction anyway. Where is everyone else?

Petition the President.

This is part of what I told Him: ( what would you say ? )

We should not be exporting period. The complaint that we are always given about the high price of gas and natural gas and oil is that our supplies are so low. Is this not why new regions were opened to access more oil and natural gas deposits? Stop lying to us. Shut down fracking shutdown new drilling. Regulate the industry and put a cap on the prices. Tax the industry properly and put the money to work creating and implementing true green energy not bio-fuel.

From the Sierra club ( please take part ):

We need to tell President Obama that exporting dirty LNG is dangerous, environmentally destructive, and unacceptable. Sign our petition urging the president to put the brakes on LNG exports.
