[-] 3 points by WorkingPeopleParty (25) 12 years ago

They are old school, from the 80's. They are from Britain. Their songs were a soundtrack to the fight of the British working people against the attacks from Margaret Thatcher.

hell yeah

[-] 2 points by e000 (371) 12 years ago

"We are the KIRA! My name is KIRA!, Even you're KIRA!" Hehe..

[-] 2 points by e000 (371) 12 years ago

They're just so normal, no bullshit marketing face, and they're talented enough to do so many styles of music (you have to listen to a lot of their stuff to hear it all, but they're very versatile; unique blends in one song, too). I also like that they're from another country, another continent even, so I have no notion or perception of the political or other affiliations (I don't get drowned in some side's agenda) - they seem very unaffiliated, very down-to-earth, and just righteously angry at injustice :)

[-] 2 points by nocternity (53) 12 years ago

yeah girugamesh is another good band from japan youve probably heard of them

Dirty Blue Blood and omae ni sasageru minikui koe are awesome songs

[-] 2 points by e000 (371) 12 years ago

Actually, no, I haven't... will definitely have to check them out, thanks!

[-] 3 points by nocternity (53) 12 years ago

glad to see some classical on here. a pleasant surprise to see people still appreciate it as much as i do.

[-] 2 points by e000 (371) 12 years ago

My brothers and I used to fight over this one tape cassette we had with Beethoven's Greatest, as children - we didn't have any other copies (seriously, sounds ridiculous, but true story), so we would steal it from each other all the time. I love Beethoven.

And also pretty much anything that has some real energy and creativity in it. Not so much for the twiddly stuff that was the old version of pop, but the good stuff, mm, love that.

[-] 2 points by nocternity (53) 12 years ago

Thanks again for your huge contribution and you should really watch this vid if you haven't seen it. i promise it'll make you smile. its the otep one i linked earlier

[-] 2 points by Atoll (185) 12 years ago

Good soundtrack. But random as all hell... Also, what movement of Moonlight Sonata?

[-] 2 points by e000 (371) 12 years ago

ALL, muahahahah :D

[-] 2 points by e000 (371) 12 years ago

OK, whatever you guys want, hehehe

[-] 1 points by Atoll (185) 12 years ago

Fair. lol

[-] 1 points by e000 (371) 12 years ago

The first would be the most recognized, but all three can't hurt, right?

[-] 1 points by Atoll (185) 12 years ago

I like the 3rd best. Anyone who watched "The Smurfs" as a kid would recognize it. It's Gargamel's "invasion theme".

[-] 1 points by e000 (371) 12 years ago

Really? Whoa, I know I watched some Smurfs when I was really little, but I didn't catch a lot, heh. Yeah, the third is very awesome.

[-] 1 points by Atoll (185) 12 years ago

Also in the final stage of Earthworm Jim 2 haha

[-] 2 points by beautifulworld (23772) 12 years ago

Man. There are a TON of System of a Down songs that could go up here.

[-] 1 points by nocternity (53) 12 years ago

Yeah i know i just want to add what i thought would be the most relevant of each band so everyone else could post their favs. thanks for your list btw

[-] 1 points by Atoll (185) 12 years ago

No problem. Music is a great love of mine :) Maybe given the non-violent approach of the movement, Pantera wasn't such a great suggestion though (ha!)

[-] 2 points by nocternity (53) 12 years ago

Nah listening to Panteras music is a great non violent catharsis. A great way to express anger without violence

[-] 1 points by Atoll (185) 12 years ago

True indeed.

[-] 1 points by Atoll (185) 12 years ago

Pantera - F**king Hostile

[-] 1 points by nocternity (53) 12 years ago

Thank you for showing me this deep song addressing the impermanence of all things. Perhaps that is this most important idea behind this movement
