In keeping with the Occupy Christmas tenet of economic redirection from income inequality, the 99% support small businesses and artists on microfinancing sites! What better way to redirect money and economic power from the 1% than to give it to people who are already working hard and not looking for a handout?

Okay, we know when women entered the workforce in mass, then the demand for workers went way down. Hey, they worked cheaper. Not something the bra-burners want to address but TRUE. Add insult to injury because computer decreased the demand for workers further. Then everyone couldn't wait to buy cheap imported goods from Walmart driving small businesses under, wiping out what was left of the textile industry. Yes get the money out of politics, if rent can be capped so can gas and electric prices. Bust up Monsanto for buying out all those small seed companies and trying to get a monopoly on the Worlds seed. Monopolies and collusion that creates virtual monoplies are the enemies of capitalism and always will be. Everyone needs options and when there is no option as in my electric company, or my local hospital, or my trash service, or there is collusion to over price gas and jack profits up, cap them, regulate them, or take them over. Its a lie that you can't bring jobs manufacturing back. Do away with this free-trade and start TAXING imported goods. Corporations could scrap a factory here and run build one there, they can by God move back if they want my money! I am disgusted with the board for not responding to an important and critical idea no matter who posted it. A consumer movement would have far more pull and participants than an Occupation. While I agree with OWS's motives and goals, I apparently am lonely when comes to the methods that need to be employed to get changes made.

This is where the movement will succeed or fail as far as I am concerned. If they want to impress WallStreet, This is how you do it! Most small businesses are not publicly traded at all. You can step back and look at what the numbers you generated say about how you live your life. Do they say all you are worried about is whether or not you can afford the new iphone? Do they say you'll keep right on buying BRANDED products made cheap in China? Or do they say, "Oh my GOD! We've really really messed up and people are really really mad and this is a problem and my stocks aren't soaring anymore. What stocks do I buy? How do I keep making bank?" And well, they aren't doing what they are suppose to. Gee, no one is watching our news stations. The people are not engrossed in mindless pursuits sucking up the oh so addictive tech. Hey, they don't care if a box of crackers is cheaper at Walmart, they went to the local grocer and bought everything to MAKE chicken soup! I don't know why no one will respond to this. I don't care if you are the biggest troll EVER. You can't evict and IDEA whose time has COME! lol This one is important, very important.

YAY! I support this effort. People need to stick there budget this year and think about how they spend their dollars. They really need change the way they live. Don't like anti-piracy laws, rush back to dial up, why not? What would you miss? Don't like taxes, buy used cars, challenge the county's assessment of the taxable value of your assets. Rather than buy PS3, Xbox, install Ubuntu along side windows and play FREE games( warning you may need a special wireless gadget as not all are Linux compatible, new egg has reviews you can search threw if you need to, or you can stop by your local computer repair shop and ask for recommendations), not as cool, but FREE. In a pinch, buy that stuff USED! Put down your iPhone and get some glass beads and string them instead of going to the jewelry store. Proudly walk into the local thrift store and see if you can find gold! Do you already own a printer? How about picking up a nice set of colored pencils and coloring the great line art freely available for just that on Deviant Art? Instead of trying to coupon shop and get name brand processed junky foods, concentrate on whole unprocessed foods. Think about how you live your life and who is getting rich off of it for a change. Really, is that too much to ask? Buy a good blanket and turn down your heat where you can. Plan shopping to save gas, don't travel unless its a NEED. Your existence Costs, profits are being made, are they being made by the people who you want to do well? Is it enriching your community? What nourishes you and enriches your soul? Who do you want to support?
