postscript: Before anyone comments, this is voluntary, and up to individual groups or site admins to adopt. They also do not have to use the fist, just the red slash over their own images. While one person commented already that slash marks seem negative, but they are a signal of distress and a good way to get people to click on tiny social networking profile pics. To have people find out what the heck is going on. Lastly, I've posted this on most Occupy FB pages, so the conventions of the communication method may no longer be up for debate. More if you like it, spread it, use it, etc. If you don't, your own sites will not have to change, only you wont be able to raise the flag so easily. Lastly, a guy in Denver began using it as his own facebook pic, to spread the word about their own needs. If individual people wanted to do this or put a slash through their own avatars, which their own friends might click on to find out what was happening, then maybe they too could have info on the most pressing local Occupy needs. Also, feel free to redesign this image I made rather quickly. Thanks!
