Mother of 2 here watching protesters begining to get mighty cold. Most mainstream media & gov. waiting for true winter weather to set in & occupy to dispurse. Please occupy lets not let that happen! Although myself and many like me are unable to physically protest, we are with you in mind and spirit! With that I have a few ideas to possibly help the occuppy movement last through the winter and not be a passing craze.1) Create a donation site with the specific agenda of helping all occupy movements last through the winter.$1 a month donation min. going to specific causes. Such as warmth(i.e. tents, heat,& blankets), food & warm beverages, & portable bathroom up keep. Visually show the donater each month which division of the cause they're $ went towards.2) More bodies in one place together equals more warmth! With the money raised for heat, tents and blankets by the donation site each occupy movement shuold acquire massive tents (like the ones used at the Kentucky Derby) to house all of the smaller tents!!! Inside this semi indoor tent city as many propane outdoor heat lamps as possible can be set up to help generate more heat. Those are a couple of ideas I felt like might plant a seed & help the movement. As I stated although I am not physically in the N.Y. occupy movement my mind and my spirit are with all of you living out in the cold and standing up for me, my children and my childrens children. And I would gladly donate time & money to a legitamate organization supporting your voices through the cold winter. Thanks and just wanted to add since this movement began I am finally becoming proud to be an american & so very happy to see this countries people finally waking up & moving towards a true country for the people by the people!

German invasion of Russia. They had to retreat. Learn from history.

there is a supply occupy website last I heard. Plus OFBX and other occupy groups are getting drop boxes set up for donations.

The big things needed will be wool blankets/socks, the 'mummy' type sleeping bags (which should be rated at 0 degrees F at the least, I have one rated for -20 but that's gonna be useless soon). Hand and feet warmers are also going to be very important. We can't have open flames or anything like that so we rely on those all day.

Also fleece. Lots and lots of fleece. Up here we have to use it like wallpaper in our normal tents.

The main problem has been that propane and generators have intentionally banned. Hoping to freeze them out.

Pretty much anything properly designed and insulated could be heated with a candle.

Don't you know candles are a health, safety and environmental hazard. That of course is sarcasm, though something tells me it will be said in all seriousness.

I need those people back after the movement re groups around comprehensive strategy that gains the authority it needs to see that its demands are met. Article 5 of the US constitution. We all need that, whether we know it or not.------

For that reason, get them out of there and figuring out WHY the many leaders of the movement are not talking about using our first constitutional right. Article v of the constitution. OBVIOUSLY, I mean duhhhhhhhhhhh all the unconstitutional stuff that has been done is done because they think they can get away with it.--

This movement needs to go over congress and the pres and Americans are allowed by the law of the land to do that. So save your energy for gaining the actual authority needed and FIND OUT WHY ows is not talking about this so these needs can be met.----

Our rights will only be met by protests at state capitols demanding an article 5 convention, OR aby protesting at military bases demanding that a constitutional military intervention into the top of the chain of command be made.-----

Why not the move the Occupy to better climates for the winter - like go occupy Puerto Rico and then come back in Spring?

[-] 1 points by PRJ (115) 8 years ago

Why don't they occupy that foreclosed house three lots from yours.

No need to be defensive. Didn't know that you were for Puerto Rico. I can see why you don;t want the OWS folks there.

Occupy Cuba. They should welcome useful idiots like you.

We tried that already in the Bay of Pigs. Didn't work.
