uh.. you DO know that one reason why many of US citizens are job less is because these jobs were given to chinese factory workers right?

so, in effect, americans losing a job is enabling hundreds of thousands of chinese a chance at the middle class life.

them demonstrating will eventually lead to increased wage/benefits, which will lead to htese companies leaving china and heading to southwest asia or africa for cheaper labor

so what exactly is OWS protesting against? do you see the contridiction of your protest if you are 'standing in solidarity' with chinese workers, the same ones who took your jobs?

Sad thing is, in America we get $15 for the job, and the chinese who now do the same job gets paid the worth of $1.

these factory job workers get quite a bit more than a dollar.. did you know that real estate even in mid sized cities is as pricey as real estate in mid sized city in the US? ie: 200-500k for a decent sized house. i have a cousin that owns factories in southern china, they make clothes (american eagle is one of their clients) he probably pays 3-4$/hr and includes food and dorm lodging

Number 1, it's not the Chinese worker's fault our companies have moved there for the cheap labor. You cannot fault the Chinese worker so, no, it isn't a contradiction, in fact we applaud them for striking to demand better wages. And number 2, I highly doubt your cousin pays $3 to $4 an hour plus food and lodgings. Workers in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou work 14 hours a day 7 days a week for 41 cents an hour, the minimum wage. Sometimes the workers earn as much as 22% less than that. Workers at the Panyu United factory, earn 22 cents an hour after automatic deductions for food and lodgings. They sleep as many as 12 to a dorm room in factory housing and are required to eat company food most describe as 'terrible.' No overtime, underage workers, terrible working conditions like exposure to toxic solvents without adequate protections, etc. So, I'm highly skeptical your cousin pays that much over China's going rate for labor. I've got the link where I got these stats if you're interested.
