Why aren't they asking people to go "occupy" big businesses (either those who've had layoffs but that still have managers with major salaries and entrances of gasoline companies with reported billions in profits, etc, etc...)

I think consumers will make impactful decisions regarding these companies if they see the facts in their face before entering into the place of business.
