Surprise surprise....drone attacks are creating more enemies than they're getting rid of:

A study by Stanford Law School and New York University's School of Law calls for a re-evaluation of the practice, saying the number of "high-level" targets killed as a percentage of total casualties is extremely low -- about 2%.

Drone strikes kill, maim and traumatize too many civilians, U.S. study says - http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/25/world/asia/pakistan-us-drone-strikes/index.html

“The Obama administration has refused to release memos legally justifying drone strikes. Thus far, the Administration has refused to release the memo or any documents, despite multiple requests from members of Congress. Intelligence operations that have virtually no transparency, accountability or oversight raise serious legal questions, particularly when such programs may constitute possible violations of international law or the Constitution of the United States,” said Kucinich.

  • From a previous post!

These wars need to stop. With talks of keeping troops in Afghanistan past 2014 and moving troop levels to the Asia Pacific... we're really going to have at least 16 years of war. They haven't really even begun discussing the privatized mercenary/private-contractor levels... all while a WMD allegation war with Iran is waiting for the word.

Give actual peace a chance.

Good shit....hadn't seen the actual study before:

the actual study contains this quote

“In the United States, the dominant narrative about the use of drones in Pakistan is of a surgically precise and effective tool that makes the US safer by enabling ‘targeted killing’ of terrorists, with minimal downsides or collateral impacts. This narrative is false.”

Anyone know who was just put in charge of the CIA who thinks drones never kill civilians?

the answer is John Brennan

I wonder how the sheep will like it when it's happening in their back yard.

Hmmmm - I wonder who might have thought otherwise? Such a good foreign relations program.

Problem is those who have thought otherwise are marginalized and labeled as fringe....Kucinich...Paul..and others.
