Forum Post: Obama gives Occupy a gift

Obama has moved the G-8 out of Chicago to Camp David, officially in order “to facilitate a free-flowing discussion” among the different members. Could it have anything to do with the Occupy protests that were planned? Absolutely. Did Obama just legitimize and embolden the protestors?

Me thinks he didn't want to see a repeat of the 1968 riots in Chicago.

There will be conversations among those that had been planning to attend on whether they still want to go to Chicago to protest just NATO rather than both NATO and G8. I think that most will indeed want to protest NATO's imperialist, fascist agenda.

Regarding G8, seems Obama will have some 'splaining to do to those other "world leaders" on why they had to move this meeting to a military center just because of a few dirty hippies... :)
