I also support Adam Smith's view of perfect liberty, but we have nothing close to pure liberty here. Only then can markets work.
Love this man. I wish more people would allow themselves to be educated by him.
I used to use "Libertarian" (uppercase L) to describe the ideologues here as opposed to the historical meaning, but I've given up. When we talk libertarian in the US, we mean free-market ideologues. Noam's kind are more similar to anarchists & socialists.
