Yes it's still happening in more ways that we know.

Very enlightening. So much so that I didn't bother with an excerpt.

It really needs to read in it's entirety.

Digby and I have been talking a lot in the last few days about the obvious fact that there are a bunch of working class white folks out there who don't have any problem with socialism for them--just as long as it doesn't go tothose people. That's something you're still not supposed to say out loud in polite society, even though it's obvious as a matter of simple historical record: FDR and his policies were wildly popular among Southern whites and similar demographics until the Civil Rights movement, at which point an abrupt political about-face began in which all such social spending was suddenly outrageous.

This was just in the NY Times the other day. Surprise, surprise, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer in the Big Apple. Good job, tyrant Bloomberg.

Isn't that why they promoted and hired him?

[-] 3 points by beautifulworld (23771) 11 years ago

Exactly right, but sad for the masses.

The masses voted him into office did they not?

[-] 2 points by beautifulworld (23771) 11 years ago

I believe shooz was referring to the wealthy and corporations who control our government through campaign financing.

He said Bloomburg.

Bloomberg is the mayor of NYC, that would be the government.

Good Post. Will need to take a closer look later - have some business to take care of at the moment - catch ya later.

Both offer good insight as to why we came together in the first place.

You read these articles - and you have got to say how unbelievably sick. And yet there are all too many people getting the shaft that still defend those that are allowing this to continue.

Un-F'ing believable.

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

They've been here defending it and attacking those who talk about it since this site went live.

They try and bury it under reams of soap opera threads.

Both of us have been a target for that.

What do really think threshy was doing all that time?

He was/is distracting with the soap operas.

trashy loves subterfuge - he thinks he is clever. Just sad to see those that he has misled following him around and defending him - that is truly sad.

The funny part?

Those might be his own damn puppets.

I'm just going to start pointing out the soap opera. I'm tired of it anyway.

It's no longer fun.

All weekend long I pushed an OWS "bridge to the ground" thread, and not one of them posted a thing to it.

I promised him I wouldn't say who he was, but I got one of resident trolls to sign it, as even he felt OWS has a right to protest without police harassment.

Not one of those other "bridge" guys did, with the exception of Odin who signed too late.

It was a funny thing that they tried to launch a phony bridge to the ground campaign while ignoring and belittling the one that the site already has in place and promotes quite well. They always talk about supporting one thing or another but never do it - they just talk like they are supporters to try to put others down - and they never even try to show any support for anything - because - that is not what they are here for - they are here to pretend - and while pretending - misinform mislead distract divide and tear down.

I probably shouldn't say this but - I have had a growing feeling that the O was actually a new moniker for Redjazz.

I don't care who they are, who they were, or what moniker they want to use.

I'm done with the soap operas.

One last bit. You do know why I refer to that character we've known as thrasy, as threshy?

You do remember the story of the Thresher?

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Perhaps - but not by that title - could there be another title. I always refer to it as trashy cause it spews garbage.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

I call him threshy, because he always implodes.

Like the Thresher did.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Wow - I guess that I do not know that story of the thresher - least ways I can not place it at the moment.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

It was a deep diving sub that sank. It dove too deep and imploded.

Back in the 60s maybe early 70s.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

OH - OK - Now I place the story. Though trashy does not dive deep he does have a tendency to implode.
