I had a strange dream last night about OWS.

There were no protesters, no occupy signs, no "you are part of the 99% even if you don't agree", no improvised roadblocks, no one asking for donations, no drummers at 3am, no civil disobedience, no tents in the snow, no rape and public masturbation, and no clashes with authority.

There were a lot of people and general assemblies. The group was called BAD (Bettering America Daily), and the members were called doers. Instead of using protests, they used positive action to change the face of America. The never waited for new members before taking action, and never wasted any time. More and more people joined as they started seeing change.

They weren't afraid of money and business. Instead, they used those tools to help everyone. They created neighborhoods run with direct democracy in which everyone helped each other out. They created corporations which pooled great minds to make inventions to help the earth. They had scholars writing books about a better world, and doers making it happen. Consumers became aware of them and started purchasing their products. One of their companies sold efficient electric cars and people bought them to the point that gas cars were not being sold any longer. They forced change at every turn through positive action, and never stepped on anyones toes. I woke up as one of their companies was about to release a material which replaced plastic and was completely biodegradable when mixed with a predetermined solution. I went back to bed for another 20 minutes, and then they started working on a solution for parked cars. Their idea was that it made no sense that someone had to walk if he didn't own a car and thousands of them were parked right outside. They came up with a system of shared cars that was ingenious. I woke up before I had a complete grasp of it.

Your dreams have continuity?!?

I was recently reading about how 4% of the population either has a perfect picture memory or they can't imagine anything, I don't remember which of the two it was...maybe it was here on these forums. ._. It had a discussion, anyway.

The place where I am has "shared cars" which I think is a system that works reasonably well.

Where are you? Where do they have shared cars and how does that work?

I think all cars should be owned by the government, and parked all over the city. There would be just enough for the citizens. Not way too many like now (most are parked). When you need a car, you would call one with your iphone and it would drive itself to your place. When you finish with it, you leave it wherever you want. If there is a mechanical problem, the car stops and another one picks you up. The car with the problem calls the government to get picked up.

http://www.zipcar.com/

It might not work well in all environments. Maybe not in high crime areas for example?
