It's the colon ':'. Unlike some other special characters, it isn't escaped in the URL when copied in web browsers.

Like the "%20" that converts to a space. Colon is %3A but browsers just leave it as it is, and markdown apparently doesn't parse it correctly.

I kinda miss him too.

We had our disagreements, but at least until he was attacked, I found him respectful.
