Damn government taxes!! Obviously the fix to this is to eliminate all these taxes, and start importing slaves from Africa again (or wherever has the most non-existent employee protection legislation outside the US) to do the jobs that our taxes pay for today. Hmmm - can't eliminate taxes completely, because those damn slaves have to eat or they won't work - I know!!! We'll elect Cain and then all those spongers with minimum wage jobs can start paying the same tax rate as the Koch brothers! Damn - why didn't I think of this before??

By the way, some of the fees that AT&T (and others) charge you do NOT go to the government - they only make them sound like government taxes so people like you will get upset at the government instead of the corporation. I wonder why is it that you think the money is going to the government that has you so upset, rather than that you have to pay it at all?

I think the saddest part is that the uneducated think we can tax the unemployed out of a world wide economic disaster brought about by the 1%. Ya know, I wonder if the tooth fairy will remember us as we die toothless.

No- the govt. taxes were the smaller part of the fees. The other was like $16 and those are the ones that go to ATT. It clearly states at the end whats govt.

Don't want to pay taxes?

Support GovernProfitism.

GovernProfitism is good for the liberals. GovernProfitism is good for conservatives. GovernProfitism is good for everyone.

[-] 1 points by Truth (50) 13 years ago

That's $76.56 per year in the taxes. $153.12 over my 2 year contract.

Thing I don't get is paying these 911 taxes when my old phone in my drawer with no sim card in it makes free 911 calls. I dunno.

I'm sorry you didn't lobby enough. Please call back when you can afford to play.

[-] 1 points by slinkeey (244) 13 years ago

Yes, someone has to pay to keep you old phone (or anyone's) activated with 911 service. It is another form of Welfare.

You really should have lobbied against that when you had the chance. Or didn't they tell you until after the bill passed. You know, I just hate it when my lobbyist get bought off by a bigger fish. Oh well, let them make calls.
