http://www.FoodandWaterWatch.org is a great organization. If you are disturbed by huge corporations that own all your politicians, and now are fucking with your food supply, then this group may be for you.

Gutless, useless and quite irritating politicians... check out this pushover:

Immediately, critics pounced on Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD), the chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, for allowing such a measure to go through—allegedly without the knowledge of several senators. Under pressure from critics, Sen. Mikulski’s office released a statement Tuesday saying that she was forced to “compromise on many of her own priorities” because her first priority was to “prevent a government shutdown.”

What's wrong with genetically modified plants?

[-] -2 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Nothing. Eating things that roundup WONT kill is fine.

Who wouldnt like the illusion of eating healthy while actually eating something with pesticides bread into it?

Plants are nothing but amino acids. Are they putting non amino acids in plants?

[-] 0 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Honestly, Im not a botanist. But I know when something isnt broke, and someone else comes int to "fix" it, its not because "they care".

[-] -2 points by Perfectcast (-168) 11 years ago

Trout are being genetically modified to protect against whirling disease. For a fisherman, it has been a great thing. If the amino acids are just being rearranged, there isn't a danger. There mightnbe if other chemicals are being added.

There are many other things being added besides changes in the ratios of amino acids. How about the Bt-Toxin and other various biochemical components that are being introduced into these seeds that our bodies are then consuming. This is a dirty business. Great information:

http://earthopensource.org/files/pdfs/GMO_Myths_and_Truths/GMO_Myths_and_Truths_1.3a.pdf

This whole GMO movement has been sold to people by trying to tell them they're trying to offer food to the starving populations around the world. If that's the case....why in the hell would you develop a terminator gene that kills plants after a season and forces people to repurchase seeds from you? This is about money and power....not starving people

Ill forward this onto a few people and see what they have to say. Like I said, Im not a botanist, but I dont want anyone who spends that much money lobbying congress and regulating their competition making decisions on my food.

Do you know biochemistry? I do. Unless there is something being added that is not an amino acid, there is no danger. the body breaks down plants into basic amino acids.

Just because we can alter the genetic integrity of a species with an amino acid or anything else doesn't mean that's it's good for humans or other species.

You must know the first law of thermodynamics, right? " no one gets a free lunch"???? What is the price we must pay for destroying the genetic integrity of a naturally-occurring species?

The road to hell is always paved with quick fixes that lack foresight.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Who said that? Very naive?

I would have said - is paved by greed.

[-] 1 points by Gillian (1842) 11 years ago

Can't remember who said that but they were correct. All evil masquerades as good. That's why it's so prolific and successful!

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

aAHhaaaaa - that makes sense then. Misinformation/propaganda to fool the masses to accept something that is pointed straight to hell.

OK.

Like Keystone xl and fracking and mountain top removal mining and clean coal and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and............................................................

If you jackasses are going to downvote me....at least leave a comment to create an understanding of why you're doing it.

that is frustrating when that happens. looks to be a great link...oh perfecast could be exacting revenge karma

all the chemicals and gmo's no wonder we're getting bigger.

wish they'd study this more and let us know of connections, it is hard to find labels even on phalates, etc,

That is what your two businesses are in?

No offense, I know a thing or two about all the stuff we are talking about as well, but Im not going to claim "I know it" if you know what I mean.

I have a minor in biochemistry.

[-] 1 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

From where? Major in organic?

[-] 1 points by Perfectcast (-168) 11 years ago

UCLA

[-] -1 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

I didnt realize you could have a minor in biochem unless you were still in the science field.

[-] 0 points by Perfectcast (-168) 11 years ago

I have a degree in biology, also minor in polisci

[-] -1 points by OTP (-203) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago
