Forum Post: Message to the "Protestors"

1) Your "demands" are laugh-out-loud funny. My coworkers and I take a break from actually working for a living to laugh at how non-sensical, ignorant and self-interested they are. You are hating and protesting something because you do not understand it. Listen and learn a bit before you scream and hate.

2) Milling around with backpacks and munching pizza isn't a protest. You are occupying nothing more than a sidewalk and you are contributing to nothing more than your own vanity.

3) Those people you are all angrily screaming at as they go to work on Wall Street: yeah, those are real people. The vast majority of them aren't rich bankers, they are everyday people with very little money working their asses off to do a technical job, and the reason they have those jobs is because they worked hard to learn a practical skill in college instead of lazily studying something fun like you did.

4) You have a right to protest. Other people have a right to free movement, to use the sidewalks and get to work. If you do not obey their commands to maintain order, police men and women have a right to use pre-approved crowd control tactics to force compliance. If you want to commit to social disobediance to make a point, do it with some dignity! Screaming hysterically all over the internet because you have been sprayed with a little bit of spicy juice is PATHETIC. Your weak actions are an insult to everyone in the past who has particiapted in real protests against REAL social injustice.

GET A LIFE !!

I disagree with RegularGuy. We have legitimate demands.

But you just haven't figured out exactly what they are yet?

Oh, for God's sake. This is bigger than vouching for a policy proposal, and you know it. This whole "and they don't even know what they want" line is just so much BS.

What do we want? For the nonsense to stop.

We all have something different. Demands I have heard:

  1. End the wars
  2. Tax the rich
  3. Protect our borders
  4. Gay marriage
  5. Term limits for government officials
  6. Lower tuition
  7. Stop discrimination against Enter HereLatinos,Woman, Muslims,

etc.

Thanks for sharing. When you go home tonight, turn on your webcam in record mode, spray yourself with some pepper juice and then come back tomorrow and play the video for us.

Are you kidding? This must be a joke. Otherwise, this post is a shameful, hateful screed. We should just ignore this creep.

RegularGuy thanks for joining the 99% and contributing to the movement

Just curious what you think the demands are. There is no official list, and the one solid demand I know of is to eliminate corporations buying out politicians, and destroy the grip the richest 1% has on us.

RegularGuy - Do you like where we are as a nation and do you support the current trajectory we are on? At the very least the protesters are exercising their constitutional rights of freedom to congregate and freedom of speech.

Okay...so what you're saying the abuses in the financial sector are an acceptable practice and "We The People" don't have the right to object...am I close.

[-] 1 points by dantes44 (431) from Alexandria, VA 12 years ago

How about them earning the job. God forbid that happens, huh.

[-] 1 points by AN0NYM0US (640) 12 years ago

I don't know if you have looked for a job recently, but it is hard, not even retail and fast food companies are hiring as much lately.

[-] 1 points by dantes44 (431) from Alexandria, VA 12 years ago

ANON,

I know it's hard. I just get a little jumpy when the term "GIVE THEM" is used.

I agree, I feel this movement should be for fixing the corruption and issues with our economy and politics so we can go back to the way the country was supposed to be. An easy way to pursue your dreams. Using the system for all, not just for some.
