So I've decided to take a different approach than the one I posted here: http://occupywallst.org/forum/building-a-team-committe-to-educate-the-movement/#comment-107668

As a quick background on myself: My name is Matt, and I'm a recent college graduate with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, and a minor in Economics. My brief years of business experience have seen me working at small mom-and-pop operations and NYC based commercial enterprises. My job-wanted headliner typically reads: "Market Research Analyst with strategic mind and public speaking skills looking to use his powers for good." I intend to do just that:

The issue: one of the things I've found interesting about the OWS movement is that all the media outlets seem to be polling the public at large, showing trends toward hesitation in support, as the public doesn't really know what they're supporting. Also interesting, is that no one seems to have bothered to Poll the OWS members in person, to begin constructing a more accurate picture of their demands and opinions.

I intend to do just that. Here's the short version: Conduct an in-person poll of the NYC OWS members with the data updated in real time and available for public consumption. I've chosen Google Apps/Sites suite as the basic platform to run this operation*. The data will be collected on a tablet devices with active data connections, so as to minimize paper usage, and streamline data collection/aggregation

I chose the name Engelhart Report for the project because:

  1. All the other domain names I thought of were taken.
  2. I'm footing the bill for the website.
  3. I didn't want there to be any anonymity behind the project. I'm the one who will answer for the project, and assume accountability.

I am open to changing the name. Before you suggest something though, please make sure the domain (in .com form) is available.

The goal for my first poll is to establish the traits of the baseline demographic that makes up the OWS movement. Traits such as Age, Gender, Education level,

At the moment I'm trying to decide how the survey should look, and I thought I'd open it up to discussion as to what users think would be useful, helpful questions to ask.

What I have so far: +Gender: M/F

+Age: (enter number)

+Education: High School Diploma/Bachelors/Masters/Doctorate

+Do you currently have outstanding debt as the result of Student loans?

+Politically speaking, I generally consider myself: Conservative/Liberal/Libertarian/None of the above

+Do you consider yourself a supporting member of OWS: -Yes/-No/-Unsure

+(assuming yes to the above) I was drawn to the OWS movement out of (check all that apply): -Curiosity

-Frustration

Which, if any, of the following demands would you agree with, Check all that Apply: -Increased Transparency in Government -Campaign Spending Reform -(other suggestions?)

+I agree with the following statements (check all that apply): (looking for suggestions)

In addition to help creating the poll, I could use a hand with the following: -Maintaining the Google apps system. -being a poll taker (you'll need to provide the requisite equipment) -Statistical analysis/report running

*The idea to use Google apps/sites as a launch platform was inspired by user RichardGates, whose currently collecting data for a broader collaboration project in the google suite. I'll let him post more on that in the comments at his discretion.
