Forum Post: Make a statement and show your support with "I AM THE 99%" gear

I wondered if there was any type of item that people can wear to show support for OccupyWallStreet. Personally I've been stuck in an office, unable to get down there, but would be proud to show where my heart is. I know many people who are in the same boat. We can donate and send food/items, but how about if we can "occupy" the space we're in with a visual indicator?

When you see a yellow wristband, or a red or pink ribbon, you know what that person supports. Wouldn't it be great to see corporate offices filled with people wearing a 99% badge of some sort?....cops, bank workers?....how about a 1%er wearing one?

Nothing existed that I could find. So I did it myself.

Show your support, and I will join you! Not only will all profits from this merchandise to to OccupyWallStreet, I will add an additional 1% of my own money to the cause.

I think this is an awesome idea, sorry but a white t shirt and a Sharpy marker can make that design.

randykato, I think the best way to help the movement is to keep the prices the at-cost Cafepress prices with no markup. It's very expensive as is.

Thanks for the feedback. there is one other Cafepress seller (that I could find) doing just that.

My idea is not just to get more of us visible, but to also support Occupy Wall Street with much needed funds to help with food, warm clothes, laundry etc.

Food, warm clothes, etc. is great, but who do you think is going to be buying the shirt? The protesters themselves are going to. So you are effectively taking their money, and then promising to give it back to them in the form of food and other items. If you just don't take the money from them in the first place then they can more easily buy these things themselves.
