I heard about this movement on the news yesterday. I'm glad there's finally some form of revolution going on!
I'm unemployed, nope I don't collect food stamps or other public assistance...I keep my legs closed and don't pop out a new brat every 5mins, so welfare offices kind of frown upon me. My mom was declared disabled almost a year ago and in February she was placed on oxygen and taking care of her is basically a 24hr. a day job. I recently went back to school because I want to better myself...I have someone come in and take care of my mom when I'm on campus. To get into my first choice of 4yr. school I need a 4.0GPA and I'm only pulling a 3.5 right now. I don't go to parties, the only time I see any of my friends is when I'm on campus...I met my best friend, who goes to the same school through my last job. This is the first time since August that I've had longer than 10mins. to myself and I feel guilty about it. I'd like to have the luxury of taking a day off. I think I'd just read a book, take a long hot bath, maybe eat a meal that requires actual cooking and has more than 100 calories in it. Eating takes too much time out of my day...time spent eating is time not spent studying, besides it keeps the costs down. If I had a day off, I'd probably go grab coffee with my friends. Nothing extravagant, just a nice quiet day to myself without worrying about my grades or hearing "Help me!"
