Trolls live in the land of logical fallacies.
Their behavior is to drag you down into their idiot hole, and beat you up with their superior experience in dumbing down conversations.
I think often a troll asks a question which can be answered educationally, and it feels good to explicitly refute their fallacies... but when you come back and the same thing has been reposted ten times, without your response, it can be frustrating.
I would like to see forums search new posts against their database of old posts, and if they are identical, eliminate them.
you can do that on the Direct Democracy site a www.uponlocal.com
Looks like a fairly interesting site - never saw it before - thanks for the link!
welcome
i like a good troll, but most of the trolls on here just say the same stupid shit all the time.
yum
Ever read the screwtape letters...not endorsing C.S, Lewis, but it is an interesting read
i havent. i'll put it on the list. just got a copy of paradise lost i'm reading that right now.
i read most of the things directly recommended to me. thanks.
be warned, it is a pure reverse logic read and takes a bit to decipher...there was also a sequel paper.."screwtape proposes a toast'..and it is a true hoot!
there was this one book, really fuckin good regarding christianity tryin to think of it oh yeh "a canticle for liebowitz."

Economics - the Ultimate OWS Killer.
you too Jgalt, solutions.....we need solutions to issues or be known as..a Troll

The problem is skill inequality. Those at the top have skills that employers demand and will pay-up for. Those at the bottom have skills that can be supplied by anyone with a high school education. The solution is education. The solution is gaining skills that are either 1) demanded by employers or 2) allow you to succeed on your own. Unless one is entrepreneurial by nature, a liberal arts education will not equip them with the skills to succeed. Those at the bottom need to be more thoughtful about the skills they are collecting in schools, assuming they are lucky enough to be able to go to college. For those that can't / won't go to college, we need to abolish the minimum wage so that people with $1 / hr. skills can enter the work force at that lower wage rate, collect skills over time and finish their careers with $1,000 / hr. skills. This is what most of our immigrant ancestors did, which seemed to work out pretty well for our parent's generation, and it's what a lot of illegal immigrants are doing today.
good points.
I bug others not willing to pick up a shovel too. The founding fathers considered it un patriotic to not keep a garden, and prided themselves and shared compost formulas,
but them, someone set conditions that herded us off the farms. bottom of front page of www.uponlocal.com is a farming news feeds and a very important message from Col. Aaron Bank founder of the Green Berets
Alabama cannot get americans to fill the vacant jobs since mexicans left..or whatever state it is...
I grew up in a farm, worked as a diver, worked, oil rigs, developed other skills as the internet age came...
What happened to people...where oh where has ouyr vigour to work and develop and prosper gone.
I asked my mentor when i was 16, a great Frogman..why the world was so corrupt...and this is after talking assassination, coups and such....
He said... people are lazy
I asked is it kept corrupt
he said..the Judges....there are lots of good laws, but the Judges dont enforce them...
Still makes since today so...he he

Agreed, the ignorance of the most basic economic and civics principles by these commie kids is really, truly mindblowing. They must all have degrees in Lesbina Basket Weaving

Ahh yes, the rarely-mentioned yet much more exciting cousin of the Underwater variety.
I agree on that, so lets show them better?
Such as the laws of supply and demand. Limited resources. Socialism success rate is terrible. However, I 100% agree with voting out ALL of the current politicians (repubs and dems) and get in a new batch, with transparency laws already in place.
please promote www.uponlocal.com looking for Board Members
I completely agree:

People here who care about this movement need to stop worrying about trolls and start worrying about the anarchists who now represent the movement in the press.
This picture was all over the news today:
The risk of having mainstream America start to associate images like that with the Occupy movement is so much more of a problem than trolls on your forum. Please understand that.

Yep, this is the direction.
When I look at that picture, I worry more about Occupy-inspired riots than I worry about banks sucking my blood. I was extremely sympathetic to the ideas that drove this movement a few weeks ago, but now look at what it has become...
I hear you, many do not, nor understand the implications.
Thank Kalle from Adbusters for the rage, that was the master plan I heard back in 91 when I fist was handed the mag by someone worked on it....the thing is, can we the peaceful co-opt their plan for ours
So far... no. Please keep trying, though.
Why can't we?
Because of the Second Law of Thermodynamics. Entropy is always increasing. People aimed at creating disruption and discord have a much easier job than people trying to create order. The universe is naturally aligned in their favor. Without clear leadership, the anarchists and nihilists will always win. I believe that this lesson will be the long-term legacy of the Occupy movement.
People are gradually beginning to realize that some semblance of order needs to be the next logical step. Not sure it'll catch on quick enough to save it, though.
Wow, somebody's butt must be hurting.
