The cost of housing, especially here in Manhattan and neighboring boroughs is much too expensive and make it much too difficult to live here. Landlord greed is another aspect of capitalism that is not right. The warehousing of apts. is a travesty. Since I've lived in NYC it's turned from a vibrant and diverse city various communities to a playground of the rich and corporate businesses. I'm sick of seeing McDonalds, Starbucks, Duane Reade and a bank on every block. Where're the Mom & Pop stores, where are the used book stores, where're businesses that aren't 100% mercenary! There should be community centers and public gathering spaces every few blocks.
