Forum Post: Liberalism Is An Honorable Path To Walk!

Liberalism is either badly misunderstood or badly misrepresented by some Righties (Reichties) in today’s American Political Landscape and I doubt that very many who are reading this would question such an observation on my part.

I am especially certain, in my own heart, that many Republicans who are willing to endorse a Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) where the ideology of “White Nationalism” is reported to have been given prominent hearing on the program, will strongly disagree with almost anything I, as a Liberal, have to say. Such as these are,most likely, too consumed with hatred to come close to accepting one such as I– much less agreeing with me. But this too is a reason that I choose to be a Liberal Democrat. I am not in agreement with racial or ethnic bigotry in any form or fashion.

I have spent many hours listening to selected Conservatives yammering on to me about how wonderful and religious and moral and “Christian” their politics are and I have spent a lot of time listening to them telling me why I am a Communist, a Hippie, A Looney, a Degenerate and even a Nazi. (Me and the Occupy Wall Street People and almost anyone else they disagree with).

Now that I have heard the news that their CPAC has reportedly allowed the ideology of White Nationalism a significantly important place on their program, I have a clearer understanding of what they may be becoming or what they may have already become and I distance myself from it by being Liberal.

When I examine their oft-spouted claim to “Christianity,” I find their argument is, more often than not, laid threadbare with bald faced self-deception and a seemingly inherent drive to demean others– most especially Liberals, Democrats and Progressives– with a “Christian” temperament that seems to literally seethe with a sulphurous hatred that only the committed tormentors from Hades itself could conceive.

Now, I have heard that their precious CPAC meeting (Conservative Political Action Conference) (Just recently held) featured some content that some observers are reported to have claimed was too closely allied with White Nationalism and that there was some emphasis placed in some of the content presented at this function on the disadvantages inherent in the courting of something called “Multiculturalism” in America.

There is a lot of furor going on at the present time over that presentation and there are even calls from some quarters for the major players in Conservatism to come out in condemnation against what some are interpreting as racist tendencies and hate mongering in such ideas.

I suppose that if anyone wishes to read about this controversy, it would be simple enough just to look up “Multiculturalism Attacked At CPAC” on a computer. That is what I did and there is plenty to read out there.

Other notable figures have been on television recently complaining that there seems to be a “Strain of Bigotry” running through some elements of American Conservatism and that it is a problem that should be addressed by the appropriate leaders within those communities.

In my opinion, far too much of contemporary American Conservatism has always been bigoted and hate-mongering and divisive...
