Florida will defy a federal warning to stop purging people the state suspects aren't U.S. citizens from voter registration rolls.

Despite a Justice Department letter, objections from county elections officials and evidence that a disproportionate number are voters of color, Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner's office planned to continue scrubbing the election rolls, a spokesman said Friday. Gov. Rick Scott (R) ordered the search for potentially ineligible voters.

“We have an obligation to make sure the voter rolls are accurate and we are going to continue forward and do everything that we can legally do to make sure that ineligible voters cannot vote,” said Chris Cate, a spokesman for Detzner. “We are firmly committed to doing the right thing and preventing ineligible voters from being able to cast a ballot. We are not going to give up our efforts to make sure the voter rolls are accurate."

Justice Department officials declined to comment on Florida’s plans.
In a letter issued late Thursday, T. Christian Herren Jr., who leads the Justice Department voting section, told Detzner that the state's plan to review the status of the 2,600 suspected non-citizens and purge them if the voters fail to prove citizenship appears to violate the 1964 Voting Rights Act and the National Voter Registration

Bring your guns, but leave your ever more dangerous super soaker at home.

Possession will be arrestable.

In Florida, it's shoot your neighbor, just don't get them wet.

You can't make this stuff up.

Unfortunately, there's no need to make it up.

Unlike (R)epelican'ts making up stuff about voter fraud, all the while ignoring their own..

I have forgotten more about George Corley Wallace and Richard Lynn Scott than you will ever know, Grasshopper. Wallace and Scott are both examples of the failure of the Great Experiment that was the American Republic, but their contributions to its downfall are very different:

Wallace was a populist, and promised the people whatever he thought would get him elected. Scott is a corporatist, and promises corporations whatever he thinks will get him elected.

Populists - good or bad - tend to take bullets. Corporatists - bad or worse - tend to be bullet-proof.

What's really illegal is non citizens voting in our elections. People who aren't American citizens don't have the right to vote in this country. That's the law and how it should be. Hate to break it to you. Try going over to another country and trying to vote in their elections and see what happens.

of course you know about the voter fraud perpitrated by ann coulter & willard romney
and our sweetheart:who is going on trial:
Indiana's top Republican elections official is himself facing allegations of felony voter fraud.

Secretary of State Charlie White, a Republican, is in the unusual position of being the person entrusted to protect the integrity of the ballot box, while at the same time fighting seven felony charges involving allegations he registered to vote at his ex-wife's house and served as a local councilman when he actually lived outside the district.

Jury selection in White's trial is set to begin this morning at the Hamilton County Superior Courthouse, in Noblesville, Ind.

Does koch have enough money to protect his employee & buy a jury?
we will see!
