Forum Post: Let's get serious here!!

I've been reading through various posts and I'm disappointed to say the least. There seems to be little organization, many demands, and no serious plans. How could anyone take this seriously? It's almost as aggravating as watching Fox news! Get your stuff together people. We need common goals and concise plans to acheive them.

Its frustrating until you wrap around the idea... The point is not to demand, not to organize. Demands become tools to divide and exclude, and organization becomes something that can be held onto by those who would wish to hijack the movement. Fluidity allows ideas to be blended and reformed while slipping through the fingers of controllers. If you want to do something, go to a group close to you and persuade people to take action you feel is appropriate, or initiate action yourself, like a petition...people here will help if you ask...

There must be a balance maintained between what you legitimately advocate, and the danger of this movement 's energy becoming fragmented and dissipated through time, and the tendency towards division. This IS the hardest reef to navigate. It destroyed the left in the 60's, resulting in the deplorable history of this country since. We must be very careful, very thoughtful, and very dilligant around this issue. We must understand that the overriding necessity is inclusion wherever that is possible within our overriding goals. And we must not become so self-riteous that we turn masses of people off. That is not aimed at you, so don't take it personally. I am just stating a general precept. The left has a tendency to do that.

Action and organisation is very important. I am not sure much can be acheived from government at this time so I would suggest creating the world you wish to live in. Once a majority of the country/ world are creating a bright future they will elect the appropriate leaders to government but untill then you can not expect people to elect good candidates so I would just get on with creating. http://occupywallst.org/forum/family-food-gardens-this-is-the-solution/

I believe this music video helps people narrow down what it is people should be serious about, in order to formulate common goals for the common good. There is absolutely no bias in this video, simply words that conjure images in peoples' minds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7WDEXnycjQ

You realize this is just a message board? Any and everybody posts here, in fact I think more of the anti-movement people post here than pro. As far as demands, it's a leaderless movement at this point. In my opinion this is like a union strike of workers vs management. The workers want more pay and benefits, even for people with less skilled jobs.

Occupy needs money since money is power. Occupys voices carry the message that we're not going to be left with an empty shaft anymore. Please stand with us and move your bank account out of the known banks that the government can't let fail so they got a bailout. Thanks

Start with tattoo and piercings removal; a bath and clean clothes. You might want to occupy a Brooks Bros. outlet and get some nice clothes. After that, vote for candidates who most reflect your political views. Finally, make it a job to find a job.

You can get nice suits from JC Pennys that are decent for the money. Never needed one, I'm a truck driver, but my brother is not and that's where he gets his. Granted, he's not a millionaire but it blends in with other people in his profession.

I'm older and my tattoos look like hell but youngsters havn't figured that out yet.

Yeah, old timers got their tats when serving in the military, usually the Navy when they were drunk on shore leave. The younger set get theirs because of narcissism.

I had some from before I joined, then a few while in but none after. That's been awhile, lol. The lines are all stretched out and faded now. I've always rode scoots so I have some of the customary tats along those lines as well.

We tried to be individual but as you may have noticed, it kind of turned into a uniform of sorts.
