Forum Post: Laugh Them Out

I think what you're doing is very powerful and I hope it will build as more of us who are disgusted by the bankster bailouts and the unprosecuted financial crimes come to join you. So here's a modest proposal for drawing more people to the occupation.

Make 'em laugh.

We're being fleeced by the clowns, fraudsters and fools who wrecked the Global Economy. They deserve public scorn and derision -- in addition to being indicted for their crimes. So let's give it to them. Let's hold them up to public mockery. The occupation should LAUGH THEM OUT.

This was done in India by citizens who were fed up with the local government. Crowds stood in front of the government building day after day laughing at the officials inside until they resigned.

This could be done as a daily ritual of the occupation -- in the mornings when they're scurrying to their offices, at lunch hour if they venture out, and when they're headed for their limmos to go home. Ridicule and laugh at them, mock them with wit and scald them with the truth.

Calling all comedians -- bring your bankster jokes. Comedy Slam in Liberty Park.

-- Embrace the contradictions with love, and keep it peaceful.

India, home of Ghandi and so much wisdom. I wish George Carlin ( a great comedian who could hold an audience's attention with laughter for hours with a stool and a microphone) were here to provide his unique commentary.

I'd like to see people picketing with signs while they laugh, maybe laughing with megaphones too carrying messages such as *Too poor to pay, but not too poor to pay attention: Bring American Manufacturing Home Now!"

-Want to be 'out of commission?' You're NEXT if we can't WORK and PRODUCE either!'

-I'm a 99er. If I didn't have a FAMILY I'd be on the STREETS please start a FUND with your millions and OFFER GRANTS to those willing to start a business that PRODUCES!

-99er: But what about those who have been off UI for longer-HOW MUCH LONGER?!

-LINT is what remains in my POCKETBOOK because YOU STOLE IT FROM US!

-economicallydiscardedcitizen and 'Ha Ha Club' Member PS: The insanity of witnessing fellow top local real estate and mortgage professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area being reduced to living out of their luxury cars along with inability to generate even 'average to above average income' resulted in us joining what I began calling 'The Ha Ha Club' because I knew that 'Those at the top' through their knowledge were making out like bandits as they pulled the proverbial carpet out from under the real estate markets effectively disabling both the real estate and finance industries and hurting the 'American Dream' of home ownership, jobs, small business and the proverbial 'chicken in every pot.'

Great. I'm suggesting making the laughter an event.

I don't take this approach lightly, either. It's actually a powerful statement. "Hey, guys. We're laughing at you now. Just go home. We'll take over from here."

That's it exactly! Throw the clowns out, put the knaves in jail. We, the people, are taking back our government and our economy.
