In the days before OWS, unions were and continue to fight corporate greed and the Koch Brothers. Unions are rethinking their support and may look to forming a third party although alot of unionists support the Green Party.

A CEO, a union worker and a tea party guy are seated at a table. On the table is a platter with 12 cookies.

The CEO reaches out, takes the platter, and pulls it in front of him. Then he takes one cookie, tosses it into the middle of the table and says to the tea party guy, "Keep an eye on that union guy, he wants your cookie."

Not all unions will give official suport to OWS. But members will stand in solidarity with the movement. OWS needs to continue nonviolently being in the public eye. Promoting for the common good and standing up to the powers of control.

But many unions are simply about shaking down government. They've subverted the process by self-selecting their bosses via the ballot box. Their members vote for tax increases and bigger government simply because they work there. They use the rhetoric of fighting for "working families" when all it's really about is working families that work for government trying to get what they can from working families that don't.
