While everyone has their ideology and desire, whether using labels like environmentalist, socialist, anarchist, libertarian, whatever, for this movement to have greatest impact on changing the shit path this country is on, it must focus on, basically: "STOP THE LOOTING AND START THE PROSECUTING!" Investigate and prosecute if appropriate the Federal Reserve, the TBTF banks, and the individual human beings who were the officers and directors of these corrupt institutions. Then break them up into numerous, smaller ones, prevent Wall Street from cycling in and out of government office, and bring back laws such as Glass-Steagall.

STOP THE LOOTING AND START THE PROSECUTING!

What you said, "Investigate and prosecute if appropriate the Federal Reserve, the TBTF banks, and the individual human beings who were the officers and directors of these corrupt institutions." is never going to happen. What needs to happen is change in culture and mindset of common people that support low taxes for the rich. Greed is NOT good. The sooner you realize the better.

So you believe that crimes should not be investigated and wrongdoers prosecuted? What kind of culture and mindset is that? While I agree with having a progressively increasing tax structure, the greed you are concerned with is rooted in abuse of leverage, fraud, criminal conduct, and forced bailouts by the government (i.e. the tax payer).

I wan't every person responsible to be behind bars for ever. I'm saying that demand will never be accepted in our current Corporate controlled Congress and senate (I discount Obama on this). You need to realize that you can't control greed and fear with a stick. You need to discourage hoarding or extracting of wealth from the economy by setting proper incentives.

The most effective thing we could chant and display on signs and discuss with the press as a demand is "PASS HR 1489. REINSTATE GLASS-STEAGALL." "Pass the bill 1-4-8-9. If congress acts, our prez will sign." "Pass the bill 1-4-8-9. If congress acts, our prez will sign."

"Reinstate the act GLASS-STEAGALL." "It makes the Wall Street games illegal."

"Reinstate the act GLASS-STEAGALL." "It makes the Wall Street games illegal."

Here's why:

Most people are beginning to conclude that this is the A #1 thing we can do. I had this confirmed earlier when I received a message this evening from someone I know on the inside at one of the big investment banking firms we all know. Here's what he said:

"If you really want to drive the higher ups in my office and others absolutely nuts, start speaking relentlessly about reinstating Glass-Steagall and Congress passing H.R. 1489."

He said if we put this on a ton of signs, talk about it relentlessly to the press, chant it like a mantra, we'll "give the guys on the top floors in the corner offices of these giant investment banking firms a coronary."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glass–Steagall_Act --- Wiki entry summary: The repeal of provisions of the Glass–Steagall Act of 1933 by the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act effectively removed the separation that previously existed between investment banking which issued securities and commercial banks which accepted deposits. The deregulation also removed conflict of interest prohibitions between investment bankers serving as officers of commercial banks. Most economists believe this repeal directly contributed to the severity of the Financial crisis of 2007–2011 by allowing Wall Street investment banking firms to gamble with their depositors' money that was held in commercial banks owned or created by the investment firms.
