...we are seeing an American version of the Chinese "50 Cent Party" in action. I mean it´s even likely.

yes it is. and about the best our holy "community organizer" could come up with as a distraction and finger pointing committee to blame anything but his administration.

hey kids! Hope Change Hope Change, and Yes We Can! woot

:) yes, many suspect the same.

It makes sense to me...but one can never be certain.

And while we're on the topic of the Chinese people, I'd like to thank them for their sacrifices to the betterment of our more developed worlds. It really does hurt deep down inside to know that our peoples have exploited yours for our uh... 'higher comforts' for lack of a better term. Not that many of you will probably be able to see this message, due to the free speech restrictions imposed by your masters. I truly do hope someday very soon, things will change for the benefit of mankind. As a good friend of mine often says "We're all in this together..."

Yep.

I am convinced you are correct. I believe the original TBD website - aimed at middle aged Americans - was designed at least in part as just such an experiment with the intent of shaping the U.S. general election in 2008.

I do not believe the face, or figure head, of that website, knew precisely how her efforts had been used.

I believe the experiment failed in part because it became obvious to some at various levels of law enforcement that government agencies were allowing employees to behave in a highly provocative manner - to include inciting violence against candidates for President.

Do I have proof of this?

No.

It is only theory.

All I know for certain is that I am convinced there are those who are paid. AS for myself, I have received not one nickle.

What I post are clear demonstrations of what I believe.

What are your examples for those here steering the dialog toward the Party Line? And who's Party Line?

[-] 2 points by Fluke (47) from Örebro, Örebro Län 12 years ago

I won´t make the mistake of giving examples....lol! I said i suspect, i don´t know. I do know that it would be naive to assume that there are no people here who´s job at the moment is to post information much in the same manner as the 50 Cent Party in China, that´s all i´m saying. I just wanna make people aware of this strategy of steering public opinion.

I´m not thinking of any party in particular, it could be any anti-OWS interest that is willing to pay for anti-propaganda.

Alright, in that case I agree . . . it's likely. I mean, it's hard to tell; so many naive people parrot the same talking points they hear on Beck or Breitbart's websites, and I know they aren't all on the payroll, they simply have too much time on their hands and too little mental activity devoted to critical thinking.

So it's a dodgy game trying to figure who the professional infiltrators might be. Best policy is not to waste any time with those who appear deliberately dense, or having the aim to confuse topics. If they're sincere, it's not like those people are going to have an awakening of political conscience online anyway. People need to just get away from the screens, get out on the streets and see what's happening themselves, talk to one another.

It's probably safe to assume that those who are saying they've done that already, and have concluded the Occupy movement is all hippie anarchists (or whatever!), are on somebody's payroll, and need to be ignored.

[-] 2 points by Edgewaters (912) 12 years ago

I don't know, they could well just be lying about having actually gone to talk to the people at Occupy. It's not an uncommon tactic at all.

Personally if I meant to disrupt something like OWS, in a calculated/professional manner, I would approach it in two ways. First, to summon a horde of smarmy internet trolls to the site (they'll do all kinds of disruption for free and it isn't hard to attract them here, there are standing armies of them available all over the place). But that's just kind of low-level annoyance, not really effective all by itself, so then to complement I'd personally be doing some other stuff. Namely throwing out red herrings and trying to get OWS to play fetch with them. Either the movement goes after them and loses its focus, or spends all day infighting about them.

Finally to take them off-point, I'd go with the whole "what's their message? Its unclear, I don't understand it" the whole play dumb routine, with the media etc. Get them to commit to something, anything other than their current message. Preferably something that is specific and literal and not just based on a common sense understanding, so it can be torn to shreds with semantics and other tactics.

That's just how I'd do it.

[-] 1 points by tomcat68 (298) 12 years ago

seriously? Obama bails out his campaign donors and OWS blames the donors? Obama bails out a bank and OWS blames the bank? Never do we see OWS on the street saying, Get this Lying Crook out of office.

and you need to be told which party?

no, you are just playing ignorant

[-] 1 points by CrossingtheDivided (357) from Santa Ysabel, CA 12 years ago

"....ignorant....."<

It's a far bigger problem than one President, one Administration. Stop playing Mr. Myopia and see beyond your blind hatred of Obama. There's no love for Obama in the minds of Occupy folks, so don't kid yourselves there, bub. This is a revolution against the Dems as much as the Repus or anything else.

sorry to see so many lost faith in our political system and our government.

It's really no surprise I guess I just didn't see it coming. Others did.

"Hope Change Hope Change, Yes We Can" Huraaaa!!! Yayyy. EPIC FAIL, then this... of course it's not our leaders fault it is the system right?

BS blame my friend and YES i ONLY blame the Current Administrators no matter WHAT party they come from. just so happens we elected them to TAKE resonsibility as well as credit. well, This Administration Gets what it asked for and has been running in the wrong direction for 3 years with a blindfold on.

I AM part of the 99% and I Haven't lost faith in our nation Just because some Idiot took the drivers seat.

Blaming marionettes and not the puppeteers is for children.

See beyond the Punch and Judy (R or D) Show, who really runs this Country.
