Forum Post: Jesus, what the hell do you have to do to get people to understand JUST WHY our government was created?

For those who keep coming up with the wrong answer, this is your refresher course on history, political science and to put it bluntly, intellectual truth. The United States Government was created for one reason and one reason only. It was created to act as a buffer, a protector of every citizens rights AGAINST every other citizens rights. It was created to create a LEVEL PLAYING FIELD for all citizens, SO THAT NO CITIZEN was given greater opportunity, benefit or preferential treatment than any other citizen. It was created to insure that laws were passed protecting each citizen from one another be it from religious or secular attack or financial or material advantage. What is wrong today, is that those laws have been replaced or amended to make those government protections ineffective, thus allowing criminal enterprises like wall street and oil barons like the Koch Brothers to flout the purpose of our nations creators, which was to insure that no citizen could gain unfair advantage over another simply because they were granted greater resources than another. THAT was one of the reasons why this nation kicked the british out in the revolutionary war....We were tired of being abused by the aristocracy who were granted privileges that were summarily denied to anyone who did not meet the aristocracies standards of inclusion. So people need to stop this bullshit propaganda that our nation was born to create a "Free Market" Society. THAT was only a beneficial 'side effect' of a society governed by "Liberty and Justice for 'ALL'" Laws. No one can claim that our society even remotely resembles a fair and just society. We have for many decades watched the decline of the true reasons for the creation of our nation... but then that has ever been the goal of the aristocracy....A Serf that accepts his place in a society based on separate classes of financial or political resources (without ever having known any other societal placement) is no different than what the black man had suffered in slavery. This NATION was created to NO CITIZEN a greater voice than another... Citizens United is just another brick added to the wall by the aristocracy to separate all Americans from the protections that our Government was created to give them. Romney is just the next step to thicken that brick wall. Anyone who votes for Romney is literally voting for their own enslavement to the financial aristocracy...as for me... like our founders.. Give me liberty or give me death... Because I will not accept any corporate whore or any would be king to be my master. Wake up America and realize just how close you are to losing the one thing that was created to protect your freedoms... the Government of the United States of America... the very same Government that Grover Norquist said and I Quote " wants to shrink the government down enough so that he can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the Tub!" Unquote. Search for the Truth people, your time is very short.

Amen brother! Thanks for this post. It is hard for many people for what ever reason to remember yesterday's weather, much less American history. And it is even harder for them to draw a line between then and now -- a world where man can land a remote controlled car on Mars, cause climate change, detect dark energy, design new DNA for medicines, food, fuel. But hasn't learned how to share and hasn't learned how to live in peace... and sadly can't cope (some) with an Afro-American president. WE, those who are reasonable and educated and moral have not entered public service to become the change we seek and are reaping the whirlwind of the power void it left behind. The answer is so obvious -- to participate fully and whole-heartedly in working for the public interest -- yet so many prefer to let others do the heavy lifting and just complain about their lot what ever it may be. WWII history is even more potent than Revolutionary War history to drive this point home (clue -- the Nazi's nearly won and American would have been a happy brief memory). The vote is all that matters and as long as it exists, ANYONE and EVERYONE can run for office if they choose to.

No, no and no. You have no concept of why this government was created. Read the Constitution. It refutes every thing you have posted.
