Lets start petitioning our local government by attending council meetings and propose that the citizens get involved in every issue by vote, we can have weekly vote nights, hell we can turn our friday date night to vote night. Its time we take the power away from our untrustworthy elected representatives and put them back into a position where they dont need to be trusted.

We need to set up a web page at every local level where the people can submit petitions and they get voted on like a twinkle or a stinkle. Hell I nominate Occupy wall street forums to be in charge of this most important change!

You may think this is funny, but I tell you it is by small and simple means that great things are brought to pass. Look at the rudder of a ship, its a small thing but what a difference it makes in where that ship crosses the ocean!

We can do this, and I believe it will work! We can involve the citizens to the point where they can eventually vote by mail or email. Hell if we increased mail flow we would solve the post office financial problems at the same time!

Since the government workers will be doing less, we can cut their pay and use that money to hire more people to help with the collection of our vote!

Take the principal at our schools, did you know most of them make 90k -100k a year? I say we cut it down to 60k and use that money to pay for books instead of putting an extra expense on the poor parents of the children who are forced to pay an illegal tax! After all who forms a school so that the children sit around with no books to read?

In utah we have a right to know web page that shows how much our government employees make, check it out for yourself... http://www.utahsright.com/h_salaries.php

Websites and petitions are nice for getting the attention of the people but not for getting the attention of the government. They are in power and if you want them to do what you want you have to take away what they want(money) in some way

I read that same thing on CATO last week!!!!!

Drowning government in a bathtub is not a viable option.

You keep telling people what not to do but you have no ideas of what to do. Sometimes you pretend to step up by suggesting things that are already being done. The truth is that you are simply discouraging everyone because you've learned the divisive shit ain' guna play here. When are you going to learn, none of your shit is going to play here.
