- We are NOT Democrats. Democrats are the system. We want to fix the system.
- We are NOT anti-capitalism.
- We demand that corporations SHALL NOT influence government. It's very simple.

This was a common thread at the beginning.
Getting corporate influence out of government should be the #1 demand. I think we should seek consensus on this in our GAs and announce it to the msm. (I'm working on this in LA.)
I don't think it's simple. I think limiting the powers of very tricky people requires constitutional law, which requires precise language. Also, business-people will have rights to pursue their interests in government in any system with democratic principles. What we don't want is to be ruled by business-people.
Preventing business interest from influencing government would require at least several constitutional amendments.
I have proposed some here: http://occupywallst.org/forum/my-proposed-demands-1-5of-23/
I agree... the process of amending the constitution is not simple, and it's what we need. Amendments limiting corporate influence should be at the heart of our objectives. How to achieve this is mindboggling... the path is not clear. If the movement continues to grow at this rate, though, I have faith that it will happen. WE WILL WIN
What IS simple is the concept. We need to end corporate influence over government. Simple.
Separation of corporation from state
Separation of State and Boardroom.
This is a good site, Rico. It shows how from the point of corporate influence the Reps and Dems are exactly the same. Exxonmobil will make roughly $50 billion in profit this year. If they give out $1 million to a candidate, it's 1/50,000 of their profit... $1 million to them is like $1 to me
So you are speaking for all of OWS? I think there are more than a few here that won't agree with you. I for one do agree.
