While this may be a worthy cause, at this time we must choose our battles, winning small gains can and will often lead to the issues of the heart being addressed.
The issue is important and should be kept in the public eye so that it is not forgotten in the press of so many other issues.
It is just one more indication that our system is broken.

The speech is based on the idea that the federal government pays the states too much to take children away from parents rather than helping them while keeping them with their families, and the bureaucracy has evolved to perpetuate itself. (CPS = "child protective services"). With all the nutty cases you hear about there has to be something to it, but I'm also distrustful of the critics' intentions.

That is certainly worth watching. I have absolutely no idea what to believe about this "Franklin Cover-up" but someone needs to figure it out.
it's real man. I live here in Omaha Nebraska. All the adults know about it. A lot of them know it's a bullshit cover-up.
But it's so hard to imagine... how could the FBI, for 17 years, through multiple administrations of different parties, remain committed to keeping the facts they'd learned covered up? I mean, it's not like pedophiles are well-liked, no matter what positions they might hold. And if the ring was so vast, stretching from Omaha to Washington DC, then why aren't there more people popping up out of the woodwork with hard evidence that they post directly to the internet before anyone can shut them up? I can believe that one or two or five people got away with their crimes, but the bigger it gets the harder it becomes.
Most adults in Omaha know the truth. My grandma was the person who originally told me about it.

There is a reason that Paterno decided to not help the kids who Sanduskey would molest after the incident told to him by his assistant. This is the American culture. While Americans wave their flag and go to church, they observe and protect child molesters.The victims of sex crimes are destroyed when they report the crime in America. It happened to Casey Anthony when her father squirmed and lied under oath when he was being examined by defense counsel Baez.
If I was falsely accused by my daughter I would attack. I wouldn't dodge questions. American courts are still practicing the art of witch hunts. No innocent person pays off the accuser or pleads guilty for crimes they didn't commit. If Paterno is charged for his crime, it is less likely this type of thing will happen again. When privileged people know they will be held to account for their crimes, a person like Strauss-Kahn is less likely to be set free after he raped the hotel maid.
The idea that any allegation of past conduct of the victim will protect the perpetrator is irrational and bizarre, but the establishment accepts crimes by the privileged. None of this is secret and its accepted as normal.
Americans are so arrogant that they prefer to not know the truth when they believe molesters and traitors would embarrass them. That's exactly what Michael Moore stated during his question period at the Miami Book Expo. "I don't want to believe that," he replied about the 9/11 Bush attack. The victims cover up to protect the perpetrators. That is irrational and only creeps would lack the dignity to demand justice from the obvious perpetrators.
Steve you have admitted that you are a convicted felon who spent 9 years in prison for extortion. Why are you looking for your next prey here?

CPS is a criminal organization. They are after the fact when needed and too easily take for no reason.
Completely agree. CPS should strike fear in the heart of every parent in America. They are truly above the law if they think their actions are in the "best interest" of the child. And all of this mandated reporter bunk- a good friend of mine had a baby earlier this year, the child was having trouble putting on weight. There was the stress of a lengthy hospital stay. My friend and her husband wanted to take their child for a second opinion because the doctor had no idea why there was a failure to thrive issue. The doctor didn't like that and accused my friend of purposely underfeeding her infant (while in the hospital?) and called CPS because she was pissed that her authority as a doctor had been questioned. Turned out that the child was born with a cleft palette, but not the obvious looking kind, in the baby's case a flap of skin covered it so it appeared normal upon cursory examination, yet the child showed all the symptoms of this particular birth defect, the doctor just didn't catch it. Never mind the doctor was wrong and once the problem was discovered the little one started gaining, but that did not relieve my friend and her husband from interference from the state- CPS workers on the case for months before it was closed, checking into every crevice of their lives. In my opinion that is one agency that needs to be completely overhauled if it is to really protect the best interest of the child.
