Peter Schiff and Austrians predicted the collapse in our economy while other laughed at them and told them they were "kooks" . Maybe we need to learn from them as we go forward.

This is true! A quote i read this week ( and blogged about) that Thomas jefferson made predicted our economy as well. Thomas Jefferson said in 1787: " If the american people ever allow PRIVATE banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation then by deflation, the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up HOMELESS on the land their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored bak to the people it rightfully belongs to."

I mean think about it, look what banks are doing with foreclosures, look at the stock market with inflation and deflation today-it was predicted perfectly!!!!

if the Fed were 100% government owned, would that be ok? so that private banks didn't "own" part of it?

The feds and the government are secretly tied. it's been proven, so I'm not sure how else to solve that problem except abolish the federal reserve completely, like JFK tried to with the Silver Certificate.

I think the thing is that Federal banks control the small banks as well.
