The New York Times put it this way:

Federal and state authorities have chosen not to indict HSBC, the London-based bank, on charges of vast and prolonged money laundering, for fear that criminal prosecution would topple the bank and, in the process, endanger the financial system.

Open your post with your edit button - and - back space to the left margin - the text that is running off of the screen - as you bring the beginning of the sentence to the left margin - it - will reformat to fit the screen.

Replaced - and also prosecuted - given the Madoff makeover - from riches to rags to prison. How else are you going to engender honest business practice and not engender a criminal culture? Responsibility/Accountability.

Executive Order 12333 (1981) places economic policy under national security. I keep reiterating this and still there is surprise when financial executives seem to have some sort of unspoken immunity. I'm sure this will just float back to the bottom after I receive a few down-votes.

I dont see what that has to do with those that are replaced..... and why they cannot be held accountable. that has no bearing whatsoever on the bank. or its finances . why are they allowed to walk free and find other jobs or retire on their millions or otherwise benefit from their criminal actions.

When someone asks you to explain the obvious, answers are not what they seek. So my question to you, is why you would post a thread about this hot-button issue then begin working to control the direction of the conversation?
