Forum Post: Is the Occupy Wall Street movement still going on?

It seems like it's over, no? This website suggests the movement is on fire, but it seems to me the movement 'jumped the shark' a few weeks ago, sadly. How can one tell, objectively, if the movement is still going on in a significant way or passed it's peak?
I live in Panama City, Florida. This is in the Panhandle of Florida or what we call LA, lower Alabama. I saw people with OWS signs on a major corner near our junior college. Hey, if OWS has hit the redneck Rivera it is still moving. (grin). OWS has forced the nation to begin to address the income inequality between the 1% and the 99% and the fraud pulled off by the banks. It has forced people to evaluate the relationship between multinational corporations, major banks and our politicians. This movement is not about people sleeping in tents in parks. It is about people who have felt alienated from their own government now feeling like they have a voice that is being heard. We are at the beginning of the beginning. People are hungry for REAL democracy not one run by political and economic royals. I am so proud to see what ordinary Americans are doing to stand up for and USE their rights. There is no way the top 1% earn their huge portion of the nation's wealth alone. They earn it on the backs of ordinary Americans. The profits should be shared on a more equal basis on the actual work done. Workers are really hurting, kids are going hungry and far to many homes are being foreclosed while the wealthy are buying luxury products as never before. It is like eating a steak around people who are starving to death while their sons fight in wars to protect the wealth of steak eaters.
