The 99% is needing to be responsible for the sway that money has in system. What are we as individual consumers willing to do about it? After all, as Zinn says, "You can't be neutral on a moving train."
We can't help it, the concept of zero accountability purchasing has slowly been insinuated into our subconscious. Need a car? don't worry, we can sell you a trade in off the lot for just 100 dollars down and 300 dollars a month for three years! Is your phone scuffed from months of being put in your pocket? don't worry, you can buy the newest version of our phone for no money down! want a house? here, have it, I'm sure a delivery boy can handle the payments! Go shopping? credit cards = free money! Don't worry about the future, you're a smart kid, you'll go to school and get a good job and worry about it then, in the future, also you'll have a jet pack and everytime you fart a cute puppy or kitten of your choosing will do something adorable.
In these times folks are not willing to give up their flat screen TV's or Ipods or Iphones. Or that cool new ford Focus. Where you just tell it to play a song and it does! Nope, the buying will not stop. Kids now have a "I want it now" in their brain. I know so many kids that have a new car and live with their parents. Like little girls. 25 years old just to have a min wage job and live with their parents. You know who you are. Millions you you with a $70.00 a month Iphone and a nice car.
I see things that way too. I don't think it's good.
Actually Zinn said that, but yeah this would have never happened if the American consumer didn't load up on debt and inflated houses.
Thanks for the edit.

We have a basic right to our standard of living and we will fight anyone who tries to lower it.
That's the new OWS chant.
