Forum Post: Is it possible that fiat currency and fossil fuels are both obsolete?

With a national debt number that has grown so large it is essentially meaningless, and a population that has outgrown fossil fuel resources the earth can provide, is it possible some other mode of economic existence awaits us in the near future. One particularly less dependent on suburban sprawl, big houses and big cars and behaving morally degenerate towards one another?

What do you think?

the technology is already there to replace fossil fuels. however instead of spending the money on these infastructure remodels the government would rather make war and hold on to what is the past. hydrogen technology is out there. and has been for some time. we are an eco system and if we dont realize what harms we are doing we will never survive this next 1000 years. we need to implement these technologies now before it is too late. i wonder if henry ford was here and seen what technology was there if he could do something with it. thanks to corporations the technology probally wont hit the market for another 20 to 30 years. and if it does then they will have to find a way to make it so expensive that people cant afford it. just like westinghouse said to tesla. if i cant put a meter on it and charge people for it then ive wasted my money in your research.

Yes and the new world will go to those who work hard at non-service tasks and can think for themselves. You will need the big three... gardens, gold and guns... LOL

Behaving non-morally degenerate towards one another!

Short answer; obviously.

You are quite right,. if you remove easy access to fuel the structure of society changes in a hurry. people stay well,. close to home. food does not magically appear in the stores,. and utilities may not be there at all times,. . people forget that we are at the end of an oil binge,. almost at empty,. .hence the wars focussed on oil fields. the end of oil means some major changes.., fiat money was always a bad idea. If we had a functional democracy we could have used those resources to build more sustainable systems that would have made the times we are about to live through quite a bit easier,. I think this is one reason people are in the streets,. we see that the pilots of the machine are not steering it, just trying to get it to go faster and faster,. . capitalism is that very urge.

the theory of 'fossil' fuels is challenged in theories of abiotic oil - which seem proven by Russians in numerous deep drilling successes

Gaddafi tried to launch the African Gold Dinar to challenge the Petro Dollar and his fate was sealed

abiotic oil? if it is truth then the Russians will flood the market,. right? Any day now right?? Seems to be some seriously fringe science,. from just a basic search. Show some reason.

Same fate as hussain,. threat to move off the US dollar,. and blamo you loose.

Lol another "abiotic" troll. Sorry buster, the Russians have proven no such thing, and even if they had, draining the tectonic lubricant as it were to fuel a retarded consumeristic lifestyle? Lol, there is no limit to the folly of man.

[-] 1 points by blogdog (7) 12 years ago

no trolling - just the facts - plenty of evidence - Russia is the now the world's leading oil producer - who'd intentionally flood a market and devalue their product? - drawing conclusions about ones intent from limited blog postings... not just folly, childish

[-] 1 points by HapteMikael (162) 12 years ago

"plenty if evidence" lol. Ok buddy, I have access to the same Internet as you and said evidence is not forthcoming, go ahead, link some conspiratorial blog, and call it proof.

no conspiracies, not pseudo-science - just the research - no agenda - got issues, take it up with J. F. Kenny and the British Institute of Petroleum, London; but, if you're as flippant and glib with them as with me, certainly you'll get no response - and as for me, this is the last - http://www.gasresources.net/energy_resources.htm

Good link, I'll check it out. Unfortunately I highly doubt it is cost effective which is the premise of peak oil.

Theory of abiotic oil has been proven psuedo-science.
