The Iran–Iraq War (also known as the First Persian Gulf War and by various other names) was an armed conflict between the armed forces of Iraq and Iran, lasting from September 1980 to August 1988, making it the longest conventional war of the 20th century.[12][13][14]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran%E2%80%93Iraq_War

I think that

this war was feed a lot by US and Soviet support

[-] 2 points by smmv2005 (106) 12 years ago

Do you know 17 Countries have support Iraq on that war?!!!!

But with Killing Saddam, Now Iran and Iraq are friends.

USA didn't ever think with attack to Iraq, Iran and Iraq find friendly relationship with together!! Rapport can

[-] 1 points by ShubeLMorgan2 (1088) from New York, NY 12 years ago

It does look like the government that the US installed in Iraq is moving towards being independent in fact. Iraq isn't letting itself be used against its neighbors, and that's good.

[-] 1 points by smmv2005 (106) 12 years ago

You 're so simple, USA invaded Iraq and Afghanistan To plunder the oil, and entertain these countries with terrorist groups and control these regions for Israel expansionist purposes

[-] 1 points by ShubeLMorgan2 (1088) from New York, NY 12 years ago

I agree. I have noticed though that the new government in Iraq has taken some steps to assert its independence from the USA. It also has not allowed itself to be used against Iran and Syria.

The "Global Arrogance"? I think that is a nice way they have of saying "The Great Satan".

[-] 1 points by smmv2005 (106) 12 years ago

JUST ASK YOURSELF:

Why our politicians are lying to us?

[-] 0 points by freewriterguy (882) 12 years ago

they can claim arrogance all they want, but just as the bible describes, these people who decended from Ishmael are warmongers, and have been warring with their neighbors just like the Lord said they would, with exception of maybe iran who its been what like 200 years, not counting defense like the iran iraq war.

[-] 2 points by smmv2005 (106) 12 years ago

Iran has no war with no Country.

Iraq and Afghanistan and other our neighbors are my friends.

Your politicians are lying to you.

[-] 1 points by freewriterguy (882) 12 years ago

politicians dont know anything, we the people are more informed than them. One of the biggest problems is the hate crimes between christians (whom i think are evil) and muslims, as they kill each other. I was talking to one friend in pakistan whose family was beheaded by muslims for being christians, and another group who was burned inside a church, but i cant remember if they were chrsitian or muslim.

[-] 1 points by smmv2005 (106) 12 years ago

Do you know this wars between muslims has created by your Governments by split them from each other?!!!

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 12 years ago

Muslim Sunnis and Shiites have been killing each other - almost from t he "beginning"

The year 622 A.D. saw the Hegira, when the Prophet Muhammad (570-632) fled from Mecca to Medina to escape the pagan Arab Qurayshites, rulers of Mecca. From 624-630 the Prophet and the followers of the new religion of Islam warred against the Qurayshites, seizing Mecca in January of the year 630. Following the Prophet's death in 632 came the Riddah Wars, a military conflict which from 632-633 saw all of Arabia under the sway of the Islamic Caliphate. As early as late 633 the forces of Caliph Umar Ibn Al Khattab (581-644) were pushing north into present day Israel and Jordan. As the Muslim armies surged forth all who they met were given three choices, convert to Islam, pay the jizyah, a tax, or die by the sword. Such an uncompromising philosophy and utter religious devotion soon brought the Muslims into conflict with the great Middle Eastern power of the day, the Roman Empire.

And, sadly, they are still killing each other

[-] 1 points by alexrai (851) 12 years ago

They've been going on since the middle ages, but I agree. Every government needs an "enemy" to focus the attention on.

Communists, terrorists, and of course those evil druggies on the home front.

Either way I just about died laughing when I found out Iran was going to send that Pink drone miniature toy back to Obama. That's got to be the most amusing strategy in foreign relations i've ever heard of.

[-] 1 points by freewriterguy (882) 12 years ago

like how specifically, do you have any examples?

[-] 1 points by smmv2005 (106) 12 years ago

Want a larger example than the war between Iran and Iraq?

Who would provoke Iraq to attack Iran?!!!!!!

[-] -1 points by Jflynn1964 (-206) 12 years ago

So what do you say to the families of the Marines in Beirut?

What do you say to the Marines and soldiers killed in Fallujah by road side bombs?

[-] 1 points by smmv2005 (106) 12 years ago

Told you Iran has do them?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a great invention!!!!

Iran has 15000 Martyrs Killed with Terror.

Why do you accept Whatever they told yoy while your Eyes and ears closed????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 12 years ago

"Iran has 15000 Martyrs Killed with Terror"
These were the victims of Sunni Saddam ????

[-] -1 points by Jflynn1964 (-206) 12 years ago

ICan you please speak in complete sentences. What are you saying, that Iran had nothing to do with the Beirut bombing or supplied arms and technology to the insurgents in Iraq.

Calm down, this isn't a video game. This is real life. Maybe you should have listened in 6th grade english.

[-] 1 points by smmv2005 (106) 12 years ago

Maybe you more play with Video Games. These bombings have programmed by israel and saudi.

Salafies in Saudi say if a Salafi Kill 3 (or maybe 7) Shias, Paradise becomes obligatory on him!!!!!!!!!!!

So saudi salafies (such as Al-Qaida) Kill Shias.

and about Israel, the terror of our nuclear scientist is a bright example for that.

Israel is 1st enemy of Iran. They are bombing the neighbors of Iran and blame it on Iran!

[-] -1 points by Jflynn1964 (-206) 12 years ago

Put down the hashish pipe. Live in reality.

[-] 1 points by smmv2005 (106) 12 years ago

What is reality? Your chairman Lies?!!!

[-] 0 points by Jflynn1964 (-206) 12 years ago

Go back to speaking Farsi because you are strangling the English language.

[-] 1 points by smmv2005 (106) 12 years ago

It is enough for me that you pay attention to my word.

I tell you, and tell you, and tell you,... Your politicians are the Biggest liars in the world history.

They want to set the world as their personal property.

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 12 years ago

The biggest liars promise if you kill yorself and some of "them" -
you will be in paradise with 72 virgins

[-] -1 points by Jflynn1964 (-206) 12 years ago

I presume you are speaking about American politicians. No, they do not want the world as their personal property and they especially don't want the middle east. Why would we want to spill American blood in that part of the world.

You attaked us, remember? You picked the fight. There is nothing in the Middle East we want. We could open up the Canadian tar sands and shale rock and have infinite amounts of energy so it's not the oil.

[-] 1 points by GildasSapiens (266) 12 years ago

If you took the trouble to educate yourself, "freewriterguy", instead of spouting nonsensical, Biblical, racist twaddle, you'd know that Iranians aren't "Ishmaelites" or even Semites, they're Indo-Europeans (formerly known as Aryans, 'til the Nazis discredited that term). You'd also know that the Arabs - only a minority of whom are "Ishmaelites" - have, for at least the last several hundred years, been far less warmongering & warlike than Europeans.

Btw, your Bible's theories on the origins of the different races have been DISPROVEN by modern DNA testing - as have just about all the quack theories in the Bible.

[-] 1 points by freewriterguy (882) 12 years ago

funny you mention edumacate cause I am so anti-educational for many and I do mean many reasons. First of all, there is nothing MODERN about DNA THEORIES. In fact they remain just that, archaic theories, that when challenged with actual DNA test data, the data was thrown out and the theory remains. Here is the proof:

In an article titled,"Calibrating the mitrochondial clock" in science 2 jan 1998 vol 279. no 5347, pp. 28-29, researchers exhumed the body of a known ancestor and a genetic test was done on Czar Nicholas 2 of Russia, his mtDNA was compared to a modern known decendant and they found that the mutation rate was 26x faster than the mutation rate used in todays "EXPERTS THEORIES"

from the article "researchers have calculated that "mitochondrial Eve" -- the woman whose mtDNA was ancestral to that in all living people -- lived 100k to 200k years ago in africa. Using this data the new mtDNA clock, she would be a mere 6000 years old. but no one thinks that is the case, rather they want to continue to believe a theory from the 60's and ignore actual research done in modern time.

Mitochondrial Eve: " the plot thickens" Trends in Ecology & Evolution vol 12, no. 11 November 1997 "the hypothetical descent of mankind from "mitochondrial eve" has been MUCH DEBATED (hmm much debated? then who is correct? ... some claim 800,000 years to be an upper limit, while most researchers suggest a date of approximately 200,000 years. They sequenced 610 basepairs of 357 individuals from 134 independent mtDNA lineages and found...

...such a high mutation rate would indicate that Eve lived about 6500 years ago - a figure CLEARLY INCOMPATIBLE with current THEORIES on human origins."

Data didnt match THE THEORY, so actual evidence was put to the back seat so that the theory could continue on as shown in this article from

scientific american august 1999 "The mystery of human origins is far from solved, but because DNA may not be as diagnostic as it once seemed, Thorne says" we're back to the bones." (Nobody wants to beleive the oldest woman is only 6000 years inspite of DNA EVIDENCE), SO "the DNA studies dna just take the back seat, says Thorne."

Is it good science to throw out the data because it doesnt line up with popular theory?

Who should be edumacating who, maybe I should be the teacher, but then I would have to take a paycut. .

[-] 1 points by GildasSapiens (266) 12 years ago

The report below is from Aug-2010, more than a decade of extremely rapid progress in DNA science later than the highly questionable reports you've quoted, misquoted & misinterpreted: "'Mitochondrial Eve': Mother of All Humans Lived 200,000 Years Ago ScienceDaily (Aug. 17, 2010) — The most robust statistical examination to date of our species' genetic links to "mitochondrial Eve" -- the maternal ancestor of all living humans -- confirms that she lived about 200,000 years ago. The Rice University study was based on a side-by-side comparison of 10 human genetic models that each aim to determine when Eve lived using a very different set of assumptions about the way humans migrated, expanded and spread across Earth." http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/08/100817122405.htm

Get real, man! The Bible is riddled with inaccuracies, inconsistencies, contradictions & outright balderdash, & no well-educated Christian or Jewish scholar pretends it's anything else!

[-] 1 points by freewriterguy (882) 12 years ago

Your referenced article http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/08/100817122405.htm quotes:

"You have to translate the differences between gene sequences into how they evolved in time," said co-author Krzysztof Cyran, vice head of the Institute of Informatics at Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Poland. "And how they evolved in time depends upon the model of evolution that you use. So, for instance, what is the rate of genetic mutation, and is that rate of change uniform in time? And what about the process of random loss of genetic variants, which we call genetic drift?"

I dont see any specifics there, just alot of mumbo jumbo. In fact it sounds like he hasnt a clue as to a reference point when he asked "what is the rate of genetic mutation"? I gave you the rate from two separate sources in my articles, with specifics that include experts throwing out the data because it didnt support teh 200k theory. That article doesnt even begin to debate how the 200k is no longer a theory. He is still asking what it is. We definately disagree.

Oh wait I just got your proven theory: "Time has passed without addressing the original issue so therefore because time has passed, without any more testing, it must be the most recent and most accurate". Well it sure doesnt address the fact that the 200k theory was debated then and still is today.

" these people who decended from Ishmael are warmongers"!!!!

Did Iran attack Iraq?!!! Did Iran attack Afghanistan?!!! Did Iran attack Vietnam?!!! Did Iran attack Hiroshima and Nakazaki?!!! Did Iran attack Libya?!!! Did Iran attack Lebanon in 33 day?!!! Did Iran attack Gaza in 22 day?!!!

Does Iran Is currently occupied Palestine?!!!

Are you OK?!!!

[-] 1 points by freewriterguy (882) 12 years ago

when you put it like that it appears that we are the warmongers, but I personally had no say in the matters, not the wars, not the debt, not the bank bailouts. I think washington has run a muck.

This is why I say, I am not american, because I am not one with these people. Im claiming my roots back to american indian ancestry, at least there I will get to own land, or at least live on it without paying a rich banker the lion share of my income.

[-] 1 points by GildasSapiens (266) 12 years ago

If your roots are Native American, why are you spouting Biblical twaddle? Your ancestors had far superior religious beliefs, & only adopted Christianity at the point of a gun, or because they would otherwise have been left to starve by the Government's agents, or even slaughtered like the bison by Government-paid hunters.

[-] 2 points by freewriterguy (882) 12 years ago

aww the question of the century why sput biblical twaddle? because this is the only scripture book that christians and many americans would recognize, just as if americans were mostly islam i would be quoting from the quran. It is true though I have much more religious texts than a 2000 year old bible, formed by the last inspired men in christianity, nearly 2000 years ago.

one thing thats nice about iran, is they have some morals, they execute gays for instance. we tolerate them to the point, that it is now (supposedly) politically incorrect to be anti-gay, ya right, i dont buy into that hoopla, in the eyes of the lord who do you think he would favor as a people on this single point, Iran or America?

[-] 1 points by alexrai (851) 12 years ago

Given the number of people murdered every year by the American government... I don't think Iran would stand a chance in that competition; but in terms of gays, are you serious? Do you honestly think anyone other than you cares if two guys or two girls are together?
