Israeli P.M. Claims that Iran is just months away from having atomic weapons. For a long time "intelligence" has been saying they were years away. What the hell is this shit? Warmongering?

The Israeli PM should refrain from intervening into the US presdential elections campaign. They have illegal nuklear capabilities themselves, everyone knows. There is no reason why Iran should'nt get a bomb to rebalance the Middle East.

What I find so silly is all of these Middle East posts - all say the same thing:"Why, oh why? Please tell us 'why' because we don't understand."

if it is true is it still warmongering?

There is an alternative view within the Israeli establishment. 60 Minutes ran a spot tonight on the topic:

  • The Spymaster Speaks - While the possibility of a nuclear-armed Iran becomes an election year issue, ex-Mossad Chief Meir Dagan sits down with Lesley Stahl to discuss the Iranian nuclear question. Shachar Bar-On is the producer. Watch it now

It is unclear that the views of Meir Dagan match those of the current Mossad establishment, but it may. If it does it demonstrates a significant rift within the government itself - and likely there is a similar rift here, and most likely in both places that rift will be most evident along party lines.

Meir Dagan views the Iranian leadership as basically rational, and claims there may be as much as three years for diplomatic efforts yet; he also warns that the cost to Israel of a preemptive strike will be very high, in the form of retaliation from Iran in the form of missiles.

North Korea and Iran signed an agreement to share science and technology. That could change things.

No- he did not say that "I think the issue is how to prevent Iran from completing its nuclear weapons program. They're moving very rapidly to completing the enrichment of the uranium that they need to produce a nuclear bomb. In six months or so, they will be 90% of the way there," Netanyahu said on CNN's "State of the Union."

And would you bet that is true?
And producing the enriched uranium is FAR from producing a bomb.

So why are they panicking? If its no big deal ( as you seem to say) then why even worry at this point?

[-] 3 points by bensdad (7520) 8 months ago

I don't think anyone is panicking
Obama is ignoring Bibi
willard is not ( check with shelly )

[-] -2 points by Orwellwuzright (-84) from Lockeford, CA 8 months ago

You might be right. I forgot that Obama told Bibi to go away last time.

The day they develop it, is the day they no longer exist. They would much rather die smiling that they made it than play it safe and cease and desist.
