We seek Constitutional Amendments that will remove money from politics and assert the peoples authority over all the institutions we create, business or government. We demand what we own.

That's well and good...a worthy aim, indeed; but it's not very close to what lies at hand in terms of the challenge facing Occupy and The People of the world. If We are unable to project clearly all the ways that our Humane Values (the heart of Occupy, if there is one) can be brought to the fore in addressing what is destroying us (Commercialism and Consumerism), every positive legislative change such as this (a good but unlikely to happen outcome of Redress) will still not remedy the wrong that is perpetrated upon The People of the world. We are faced with the challenge of a thorough-going Paradigm Shift from a Competitive Model of Society to a Cooperative Model of Society and the ten thousand ways, mostly small, that this Shift can be affected in the lives of real people today...that is, right now. Reliance upon political solutions will, more than likely, prove either to be delusional and an enormous waste of energy, a distraction from the issue of change on the local level where people live, or even an outright subversion of the REAL answers we require in this climate of approaching catastrophy, natural and man-made.

It never ceases to amaze me how well spoken so many folks here are. These are the ones, as long as they remain true to their words, that will steer humanity in the right direction. I don't really care about your private life.

I don't think one should down-play the importance of confronting the political system. Visible shifting in that arena will encourage people to re-examine themselves and the communities they live in. "Think globally act locally" is an outdated slogan.

Americans need a third party. Nothing will come from a Petition for Redress unless it is delivered with a credible warning:

" V. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that IF the PETITION FOR A REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES approved by the 876 Delegates of the NATIONAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY in consultation with the NINETY-NINE PERCENT OF THE PEOPLE, is not acted upon within a reasonable time and to the satisfaction of the Delegates of the NATIONAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY, said Delegates shall reconvene to utilize the grassroots network established in the election of the NATIONAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY to organize a new INDEPENDENT POLITICAL PARTY to run candidates for every available Congressional seat in the mid-term election of 2014 and again in 2016 until all vestiges of the existing corrupt corporatocracy have been eradicated through the power of the ballot box."

OWS99% is what gives the warning credibility. But the window of opportunity won't be open for much longer. Everyone who had high hopes for this movement has to think about the concept of a National General Assembly. Think about the possibilities and ask what is the real downside risk. It's a no-brainer if you want my opinion.

What does OWS want/demand everyone keeps asking? From my point of view there's only one thing and it's not something we are demanding from anyone but ourselves.
