You many have doubts about your own country, but you might also know how many peoples and countries are much more fucked up, from the perspectives of civilization, economy, politics, creativity and etc. The things you are criticizing are world-wide and probably have done more bad to many other countries where there are less civilized and worse off people. The whole world economy is going under because clearly there is some thing wrong with the world's people. I don't refer to "people" as any opposite side of "government" or even the 1%. They are people too. The world needs a revolution. And it is not only about correcting some wrongs of economy or governments in its current ways, but also some radical changes. I don't mean people should eliminate the current ways of economy and politics, because it is impossible. And what's more, I think they might already be the best situation and phenomena we can expect.

At the same time, I actually am not optimistic about finding a solution to the essential problems. I think the kind of shit currently happening is doomed to happen, but I truly hope to find inspiration from people who can make a difference. I can't find any such inspiration where I am and don't even wish. But I somehow think some of you American people can create this inspiration that is strong enough to influence the world.

I agree with you. I think, overall, it's the system. It has a built in flaw that always leads to corruption. Have you ever heard of a resource based economy? Here's a pretty good video explaining it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDhSgCsD_x8

The first thing that drew my attention to OWS was those signs, slogans and stuff. I was totally impressed by those smart humors, uses of ingenious language, music and art some OWS people used in the demonstration. You should be proud of those.

Just days ago, I collected a lot of pictures of OWS signs and prepared a lecture for my students. I had no intention to express my personal opinions. I just want to show my students those pictures but right away I was told by a superior that I couldn't even mention OWS in my lecture. How about that? Have faith in what you are doing, be proud of your country and be prepared to make some differences to the world.
