Hello, I need some help.

I'm American, and I don't have money to pay for college education, and I don't want to become a debt slave applying for student loans.

I have heard that countries like Germany and Sweden have Universities that are completely tuition-free, you don't have to pay anything to study there.

Some people told me that those Universities accept international students from "poor" countries, and those students don't have to pay anything. Well, I'm not from Africa or Latin America, I'm from the United States, but I'm poor. Could I study for free in those European Universities?

What should I do to enter one of those Universities?

Any information is welcome.

Thank you.

I used to live in Taiwan and they have lots of scholarships available. Most of the text books are in English and some of the courses are too (usually taught by an expat prof). Even without going for "free" most countries' tuition is a fraction of what they charge here!

Do you Speak German or Swedish? Why would you want to pimp off the German or Swedish Tax payers? Nothing is ever free it's paid for by the high taxes paid by workers in those countries. Do you not think the workers in Europe have enough parasites to start with?

[-] 1 points by AmericanStudent (8) 12 years ago

I'm not a parasite. I'm a young man willing to study very hard, willing to do scientific research, willing to acquire knowledge and help the production of new knowledge.

Stop insulting me, please.

Insult you, get over it you insult yourself as do others here saying get the free shit. If you're prepared to work so hard then don't expect others work and tax deductions pay your way. Have some bloody pride get a job and work through school and don't expect people to pay your way. Do you speak the languages or are you expecting to be schooled in English?

I'm an American student, I want to have free vacation home in Colorado, somebody can help me?

[-] 1 points by AmericanStudent (8) 12 years ago

No, I don't want free vacation home. I want the right to study, become a good professional, and earn my own money, to buy my own vacation home.

[-] 0 points by LogicBombs (15) 12 years ago

Thats fine and dandy, I was asking if anyone could get a free vacation home for me. I figured, while we're in the spirit of trying to get free stuff (lots of stuff in life is/should be free right?) I would try to get a little piece of the pie.

Also, hope you're not trying to make enough money to buy a vacation home here in the US because then you would be 'rich' and therefore the 'enemy'.

best way to avoid the debt is to not apply for the loans. It is very possible to get through college without debt... people do it all the time.

I can't pay college. I'm poor.

Try getting a job. See they pay money and you can then use that money to pay for college. I hope you can find one that accepts idiots.

of course you are.. . you're a college aged kid! Every college has work-study, every college town has service industry jobs. my kid started one of those "crap" jobs about two months ago but because he will actually work, is now shift manager making $30K which isn't back considering he isn't even 21 yet.

[-] 1 points by AmericanStudent (8) 12 years ago

Sorry, but I don't want to go to a crappy college, being a semi-slave during my college years, without time to dedicate to my studies.

I tell you the truth... what college doesn't matter one bit (with just a couple of exceptions)! I graduated from a major state university 30 years ago. I have had exactly one person (human resources at my first job) even ask to see anything related to college. As a person who hires people, I don't care what college anyone went too. Southwest Missouri State or MIT... same to me, just can they do the job. Want to stay out of debt? Best way.... one year and two summers of community college and two years of a small state university... out in three years and minimize your bills.... and it won't make any difference to your career. Doctors post their degrees.. ever decide to not see a doctor because he went to a state school instead of Harvard?

some extreme jobs like supreme court justice or head of mayo clinic, it might matter.

I want to be an Engineer or Physicist.

[-] 1 points by Yepper (277) 12 years ago

Most engineers have a work ethic which I doubt you fit into. And most engineers work for the man.

I am a engineer and hire electrical engineers all the time for one of those shameful major corporations where I make devices that go into every single computer out there. Just hired a good kid who graduated from Uni. of Missouri -- Rolla... not a crappy college at all. Most important would be to pass the EIT anyway, and you can do that from any college out there.
