Capitalism is an abusive husband. It wants us to believe that we are stuck and that our own failings and shortcomings caused our predicament. It wants us to think we can't live without it. It wants us to believe we are in the minority of those who do not prosper. But the truth is Crapitalism only works for 5 percent of people (those who own a share)...the rest of us work for it we do not prosper we toil and have no relief. It is time to show fortune 500's monopolies and multinational conglomerates the door. We don't need them to live. They don't contribute jobs...they steal them and dominate the markets. They do not pay tax...they buy Congress, make laws that make it easier to dupe us, and shelter earnings offshore. The contribution they give is an illusion. They do not provide...they take. And since when was the greater good...the stock market or a multinational corporation? it was supposed to be...the living citizenry
You've got that right!
"This is because neoliberalism – the broad set of political-economic ideas and policies which have dominated public life over the last 40 years – has failed, in both theory and in practice. It is in the wake of the global financial crisis that these failures have plumbed new depths. Financial instability looms over economies shackled by insufficient investment. Living standards stagnate and work becomes ever more insecure, shattering the implicit bargain of the entire endeavour."

And yet our government's answer to solve the problem of capitalism is to create more unbridled capitalism, to give it more power, to create more laws that make it ok for industry to abuse the populous...it is the same story throughout the ages. But doing this has never improved society. And they are the same entities that keep building upon what they were already given at the expense of the powerless people. Industry owes a great debt to people. Not the other way around as they would like us to believe. Giving capitalism more teeth is like giving a war monger weapons...and in most cases there is little distinction between the two. The idea that a corporation pays anything forward is false especially when the entities we work for are connected by a bloodline of investments which means they are also the ones pricing and selling us goods which includes housing and food. We aren't earning...we are well fed slaves.

Good forum post & strong words - which sadly too few in U$A have the courage to say out loud.
