School gunman in Georgia 'had 500 rounds' DeKalb County Sheriff's Office photo shows Michael Brandon Hill on 21 August 2013 Michael Brandon Hill had no apparent connection with the school

A man arrested at a school in the US state of Georgia on Tuesday was carrying 500 rounds of ammunition and an assault-style weapon, police say.

Michael Brandon Hill, 20, allegedly held two captive in the front office of the Atlanta-area academy, shooting at police outside, officials said.

One of the hostages, school clerk Antoinette Tuff, told local media she had talked him into surrendering.

Mr Hill was arrested on multiple charges, including aggravated assault.

No-one was injured in the event at McNair Discovery Learning Academy.

Twenty-six people including 20 children were killed in Newtown, Connecticut, last December when a gunman opened fire inside a primary school. 'Willing to die'

DeKalb County Police Chief Cedric Alexander said officials were unsure of Mr Hill's motive; he had no clear ties to the school.

Detective Ray Davis says the suspect got the AK-47-style rifle from an acquaintance, but it was unclear if he stole or borrowed it.

Officials believe Mr Hill entered the school by walking behind someone allowed in.

Ms Tuff told broadcaster ABC the suspect had told her "he was sorry for what he was doing. He was willing to die".

She kept Mr Hill talking by sharing her life story, including a marriage ended after 33 years and the difficulty of opening her own business.

"I told him, 'OK, we all have situations in our lives,'" she said. "It was going to be OK. If I could recover, he could, too."

"I knew that if he got out that door he was gonna kill everybody," she told a local broadcaster in a separate interview.

McNair Discovery Learning Academy has about 870 students.

The school is named after Ronald McNair, an astronaut who died when the space shuttle Challenger exploded on 28 January 1986, according to the school's website.

lets NOT ban assault weapons

Plus they might get teased - "Hey ya walk like ya got a stick up your ass" - well maybe not - or at least not until after they pulled their head out for being teased about that.

American Gladio: DeKalb County Charter School “Active Shooter” Show by Scott Creighton

UPDATE: Being reported that the assault weapon was an AK-47. Very large weapon to sneak into a school

This has got to be the most obviously staged American Gladio event to date. Bar none. But at least it was a kinder, friendlier production. Thankfully.

Let me see if I have this straight: guy has no motive, guy sneaks into security door “somehow” with assault weapon and “other guns”, guy says he’s ready to die for no motive, guy also says he doesn’t want to hurt anyone, guy has admin call cops and media, guy has nothing to say to the media, just wants to be sure media films the event, guy fires gun in room with one person hitting no one, guy waits for cops to show and press choppers, fires a few round out window hitting no one, guy gives up and walks out.

Michael Brandon Hill brings assault rifle and “other guns” into a school (police don’t know what guns he had as of yet or aren’t saying) and just like the last American Gladio ops, the guy had no motive.

Hill surrendered shortly after and several weapons were found, though it wasn’t clear how many, Alexander said. Police had no motive. AP

Hill gets past security system with locked doors and video cameras, no one knows how (maybe they should look at the security tapes?).

Though the school has a system where visitors must be buzzed in by staff, the gunman may have slipped inside behind someone authorized to be there, Alexander said. AP

“May have” slipped behind someone coming in the door? WTF? Like that person isn’t going to notice the strung-out looking guy with the assault rifle crouching down behind her, hiding from the security camera?

Hill magically gets into administration area and is later overheard by a school volunteer, Debrah Hayes, saying `I’m not here to harm any staff or any parents or students. He said he wanted to speak to a police officer.” … she doesn’t notice the guy is carrying an assault rifle “and other guns”

She stopped by the office at the end of her shift and saw a man talking to a secretary but she did not see a gun.

“I heard him say, `I’m not here to harm any staff or any parents or students. He said he wanted to speak to a police officer.” AP

At the request of the gunman, woman calls police AND THE PRESS and the guy fires off a few rounds in the background, at no one, hitting no one.

A woman in the office called WSB-TV to say the gunman asked her to contact the Atlanta station and police. WSB said during the call, shots were heard in the background. Assignment editor Lacey Lecroy said she spoke with the woman who said she was alone with the man and his gun was visible. AP

That takes a second to sink in, doesn’t it?

Who was he firing at? No one was injured during all of this and the cops weren’t there yet. So who was he firing at?

well, they answer that question for you.

“It didn’t take long to know that this woman was serious,” Lecroy said. “Shots were one of the last things I heard. I was so worried for her.” AP

He fired the gun to make the scene more dramatic. But no one was there. He just fired it for effect.

Remember, at this point, the kids are still in the building waiting for the press to show up so they can record the dramatic escape organized by the teachers and staff of the charter school.

Police SWAT and tactical squads show up, with THE PRESS helicopters… just in time for the teachers to bring the kids out of the building and huddle next to a fence…

… dramatic overhead television footage capturing the young students racing out of the building, being escorted by teachers and police to safety. AP

… guy fires a few rounds out the window.. again, hitting no one…

… guy is convinced to give up by the woman who first called cops AND THE PRESS

No one knows how he got into the charter school. Oh yes, it’s a charter school that makes money preparing poor black kids for life in the community, according to their website.
