Forum Post: If a family chooses to move to open land whether by purchase or squatting, to live by self reliance, our current system denies them water rights, so they will die of thirst.

Just a little jot of truth for those who cannot see the way things really are. Our laws should be changed in favor of we the people, saying, if it for self reliance, or if they live on the land, then they inherit all rights, without penalty

As correct as wellhungjury is I would like to point out that if you are living off the land you should need water from an establishment right?

This could be regional. Where I live, there is a structure to water rights of which some cannot be denied. Not saying you are wrong, but I would really like you to extrapolate the post a bit.

Each state has it's own laws with regard to "squatters rights". So, if you live in NYC and want to use that "right" you need to understand how the law is written with regard to your state and locatin. Then you can do it "legally".

And there is a reason for such laws.

Die of thirst? Sort of hysterical wouldn't you agree?

Being self reliant means you live somewhere that doesn't require water rights....because you'd have to RELY on someone else to give them to you. Making you NON-"self" reliant. idiot

Water rights are-"The right of an owner of land to use water adjacent to or below the surface of the land."

If a family moves onto a piece of open land which they have PURCHASED-they ARE the owners and the water rights are specified and given to them in the contract for that land. They will not die of thirst if there is water on or under their land. If a "stream or river etc" runs through their land, they get a certain share of it's water-also determined in the purchase of the land. People who own land with water near, under, around it DO SHARE that resource...it's called WATER RIGHTS!!!

Someone squatting on land that does not belong to them-has no right to be there in the first place, so DUH-they would also have no right to dig or tap into water on or near that land either.

Again, SELF RELIANCE means taking care of yourself BY yourself. Using something that belongs to someone ELSE-land or water-means you are reliant on THEM to allow you to use something that is THEIRS.

I apologize for idiot. But your posts make no sense.

well regardless, i do think your points of water rights has merit as it does allow people to share, the only problem left, is people who come to earth by God get no land by the men who own unless unless they slave away for it.

People buy "land" all the time. There are places where it costs more and areas where it costs less. You can also buy land the same way you buy houses...on payments. You don't need to pay for it all at once.

I've met average people who spend more on a new car than a chunk of property would cost. It's not EVERYONE's dream to "own land" and MANY people wouldn't know the first thing about what to do with a piece of real estate if you handed it to them.

God didn't send us to Earth so we could buy stuff or own stuff. If He was all that concerned about who owned what, He has the power to step in and fix it Himself.
