I think, coming from the Midwest, that this point is crucial to the Occupy's chance for success. I apologize for being redundant. But My point I feel is shared by very many supporters or would-be supporters.

Present something to Congress now.

Take up ONE issue. One that would have to get widesperad support. Like Anti-cronyism law. Find a congressman or president that would be willing to say "we think that corporate involvement in our govt is great" especially with the public sentiment of today. Take it to congress. Buy the movement time and show the public that you are more than serious. A lot of supporters are quiet atm, because we are waiting to see what will be DONE. As soon as you present something to congress support will come in droves....but you are running out of time.

Why don't you go present something to your congressman I'm sure they would listen .... Lol ... They all work for the bankers ! All of our representatives ... Represesent only the 1% or their direct banker boss. We have lost ... We have giving away our freedom and our country .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQSe9lml7bo&feature=youtube_gdata_player

YES. We need specific actions articulated and congresswo/men to sponsor them. I get the impression that anarchists control this website and have No Intention of Achieving Consensus and Voicing a Specific Action. Fight for #1. Keep your Faith in America. Focus on the Greed of a few CEO's. Make a List of Demands. Organize a Task Force for each Demand. Be Polite to those that disagree with you- This Is All About Winning. Also from the midwest, I tend to agree. It is very easy to point out flaws, but i try to give solutions as well. I think there is a VAST silent majority that would support repealing citizens united, or publicly funding elections, but there are already proposals in congress for both of those topics, yet they receive little attention. the problem is an uniformed public. our founding fathers realized that democracy could only function with a participation citizenry, which we have lost. maybe a tax for non-voters would help? of course you would have the option of not voting, but you would need to go to the voting booth and mark 'none of the above' or something

A tax for non voters would bite voters in the ass, and removes choice. But I see what you are saying.

yea, we just need some way to get people to engage again in their constitutional obligation to participate in their own future. Maybe that was a little off base, but it would be the fastest way to increase participation
